My New Student Diggs

So I've moved back to Manchester for university and a few guys and I have got a house together. I've fitted our lounge out with my new tv. The set up is not as fancy as some other people's but I've already fallen in love with it in such a short space of time
Since the pics were taken we've had Virgin Media with the V+ HD box installed.
Excuse the pic quality as it's taken off my phone.
I'd love to hear what you guys think!

The first pic is before the new tv

Re: My New Student Diggs

Nice, i was confused before I read because your TV changes sizes :D I thought it was some creative camara use to make the TV look bigger:D

I like how you didnīt mount your TV high up on the wall I think itīs always better at eye level or just a bit lower

Wow fantastic set up for a house full of students! Make sure you give us an updated photo in a few weeks when the room is full of hung over overstyers, empty beer cans, ash trays full of spliff butts, womens underwear and, my favorite, some road cones

So It's been a while since I updated this. I moved out of that house in July 2010. I moved in to my new flat just after with some friends (still in Manchester).

Thought I'd just put up a quick pic of my lounge.
I've got some new CM9s and a Marantz SR7005. My 602s have been moved to rears. I've still got the CM Centre 2 to buy, as well as a sub (PC13-Ultra? ) Eventually I'd like to replace the 602s with matching CM5s, but that is a long way off. I've had to bung my CM9s as the walls are hollow (plaster board) and it's a tad boomy.

Nice house, looking good!
Very tidy, I wish I could find people to live with that were that tidy, all my friends are far too messy for me to tolerate with my OCD-tidyness >.<

To be fair, it was cleaned just for the picture. Currently there's Domino's Pizza boxes about and just a general mess.

I've got a boxee box tucked around the corner of the tv. It's connected to a 3TB NAS full of goodness.

Now Christmas has been and gone, I've managed to get a couple of new things. I've bought a new stand and centre. Only the sub and new rears to go!

Wow your setup is really taking shape, my only worry is the radiator behind your tv and av unit. When in use it must get really hot behind there? but i got to give it to you those speakers are nice...

Luckily my neighbours are my friends. If a sub were to be on, they'd be over too.

Thanks, yeah the speakers are great, they look a lot better in person though. I've turned the radiator off, didn't fancy having that getting warm with all the equipment.

Sweet looking pad man. I must admit however i prefer the layout you had in the first update pic up against the back wall but in know your new layout would be better in terms of getting the maximum out your your and front and rear sound stage. Shame to see your 7005 hidden away too but then again, some of your mates might not just appreciate it as much and boot in when your having a wild party night

Living with Incrediboy does have a few perks! Though he has given me the AV bug now

Yeah we sacrificed a sofa (went in to Incrediboy's bedroom) to get more out of the surrounds.
