After a long time looking on this forum, and taking a lot of inspiration, I thought I'd post a few pics of my set up. As this is in our front room, I did not want it to be too invasive and I had to compromise some of the "ideal" speaker positions. The stand is from the Besta range at Ikea and it houses all the components perfectly. It has a solid back which I have had to cut out certain sections in order to feed cables through. As the Onkyo amps are notorious for running hot, I cut out the whole section behind it which allows all the hot air to escape.

Bought my new TV with Stand and Sony DVD 5.1 Surround. I was happy with this but after looking around this site, the bug bit me!
Original purchase was a Samsung TV, Sony DVD Home theatre unit and stand. This was a package put together at Comet, which was great at first. I then bought a blu-ray player and Freesat, due to the poor Freeview reception in my area and added these to my set up.
The Sony came with wireless rear speakers.
Then after the bug

, the Onkyo and front centre would not fit in the stand, so.......
new stand needed!!
My 360 has had the RROD and been back for repairs. Its now well out of warranty, so I decided I had nothing to loose by stripping it down to paint it. It blends in with all the other gear much better now. I bought the face plate from ebay as it seemed like too much hard work to strip down and mask out.
As these run HOT and don't like confined spaces, I got hold of a PC fan and an old USB lead. I fitted the fan into a hole I had cut in the rear of my Ikea unit and used the USB power from my Freesat receiver to power the fan. You can just make out the fan in picture.
Rear of the Besta Ikea unit which I cut out to wire up, and aid with cooling. The fan for the Xbox can just about be seen through the mass of wires!
Front Right and Surround Right speakers
Couch and Surround Left
This is the best place I could find to fit my Front Left speaker.
Sub hides away perfectly under a small side table.
The remote for the Humax Freesat coded in faultlessly with all the other units. It has a really simple layout and is definatly wife friendly!

For some reason though it will not pause or un-pause the Blu-ray player, so I just use the original remote when watching BD discs.
Finally got True HD working after setting output correctly on the player.
