New apartment (WIP)

Updated 13/11/09 see page 9

Guys

Due to a split from the Wife a few months ago, needed somewhere to live and also needed to move on so I've bought myself an apartment in a new developement.

Been into home cinema since the early days of DVD and still using an old Sony 5.1 reciever and speakers which I've had for 10 years. Along with the new apartment I have decided to start the HC from scratch so all I'm taking with me is my Apple TV (along with my iMac) my Xbox 360 with HD drive and our bedroom TV (32" Series 4 Samsung) don't intend this to form part of the new HC but it'll do until I decide what route to take

Anyway, picked keys up today and thought I'd start off by posting some images before I move in. Got a week off work so intend to update with a few pic's as I go. Also below is a plan of what I hope it will look like when complete.

Not really decided on a complete kit list as yet (depends of funds lol) but as said above I have:

Samsung 32" LCD
Apple TV
Sky HD (being installed on Tuesday)
Sony DG820 receiver (just bought)
360 with HD drive

Still need a set of speakers, BR player and a larger TV

Don't intend this to be anything like some of the stunning systems on here (The Force etc) but as long as it's comfortable I'll be happy

Re: New apartment (WIP)

Dave I think this setup is more kind of my style, as good as The Force's is, it seems he is a bit of a clean freak (If he reads this: sorry! )but yours seems more of a living area if you know what I mean.

Sorry to hear about the split from the wife, but think of the positives, no nagging about spending to much on equipment

Re: New apartment (WIP)

I see where your coming from KF, do love his set up though

You're quite right, already spent a few quid, few more to still do & no hiding the CC statement's lol

Done a fair bit to the flat today, will post some more pic's up during the week, starting to look more like a home now

Re: New apartment (WIP)

Congratulations on your purchase Dave. The place looks beautiful, and by the looks of your living room, you have a great space to fit a very nice HT. Best of luck!

Re: New apartment (WIP)

good luck matey,

your apt is almost exactly the same layout as mine and ive also got mine set up very similar....

The great thing about getting a very cool apt is the birds gush when you bring them back to it...

Re: New apartment (WIP)

Guys, finally managed to get the apartment sorted and get some shots, so here's an update....

Kit list is:

Sony STR DG820 Receiver.
Q Acoustics 1010i 5.1 package in black
LG BD370 Blue Ray player
Apple TV
Sky HD
Xbox 360 with HD Drive
Optoma HD700x Projector.
Samsung Series 4 LCD 32"

All done (for now) tech wise, but will add my Time Capsule as soon as I get my BB connected...Still a few bits to do (lampshades) but will be on going.

No pic's of the projector in action just yet, just waiting on a couple of leads so I can connect it properly, tested it and it looks stunning will post some more up when installed.

Re: New apartment (WIP)

Nice one mate

Do you project straight onto the wall above the TV?

Whats the length of the throw and how big a pic do you reckon you get?

Nice AV unit too! Where's that from?

And when is the flat warming?
