Shame they didn't use soundburst for the archery targets

Well done Murray

Federer wasn't on the boil today but his 17 GS medals makes up for it!

Another gold! Awesome

And whilst all that was going on we just won silver and bronze in the pommel horse in the gymnastics. Lost out on the gold by the tiniest whisker - same scores, but the other guy had a very slightly higher degree of difficulty in his routine.

Yea gripping stuff.

Isn't Murray back on court at 17:15?

It wasn't down to difficulty, the Hungarian won as his execution score was higher.

Great performance by our two lads for the Silver and Bronze though.

I kind of think that's wrong, surely if the score is the same the competitor who tried the hardest routine should get it, rather than the one who played it safe?

Great performance by both guys though.

Yes but the Brit who came third just spun around in circles the whole time - where as the guy in fourth did that - and large handstands into leg splits and other difficult stuff. So it's weird how they score it.

No point trying a difficult routine if you can't pull it off - so execution is the correct score method.

I was referring to Louis Smith who got the silver, I thought he pulled off a more difficult routine excellently, but then I'm not an Olympic judge.

They're the rules so it seems....in the event of a tie the first area of differentiation is based on the execution of the routine. Probably feels like a right kick in the nuts for Smith tbh.

Because sometimes it just isn't your day and Federer is gracious enough to know that.

He's already won an Olympic Gold, won everything there is to win in his sport, and is again world no.1 so losing isn't going to be the heart rending affair it would be for someone looking for their first big win.

The BBC HD sound has gone? But normal SD BBC channel fine. Certainly not the telly or my hi-fi as every other channel (SD and HD) is fine. Sort it out BBC

Edit: Ignore. Changed spdif setting on telly from auto to pcm. Sorted it ???....
