Are people still playing this?

Hey guys

I bought LBP when it launched but only played for a couple of days because there were so many other games out at the same time, so i sold it.

But with it now being soooo cheap and my Trophy completion level being fairly low

I picked this up again

Is there anything i should buy from the store? Has anything been 'added' since it's launch as i'm currently downloading 4 updates which are coming in at a meaty size each.

I won't be on much tonight but once i've got back into the swing of things, anyone fancy making a level with me and help me go for the Platinum

Benchy, only essential DLC I'd say is the MGS level pack, and that's mainly so you get to use the paint gun in any levels you create.

The included levels are really good too, even if you can complete them in an hour.

I would agree - the MGS levels are the only paid for content i have bought.

Haven't played this for a while - must get back to it. Spent hours getting all the prize bubbles and aceing all the levels. Meant to get into creating but got caught up in too many other games!

I'm a brand new PS3 owner and picked LBP up cheap. I absolutely love it! Working my way through the story levels picking up as much stuff as I can on the way through and am going to start creating levels. I scoffed at the concept of LBP when I was just a 360 owner but having played it I can't help but be overwhelmed by the creativity and skill of some of the community out there.

That's pretty much my experience too to be honest

Laughed it off as a kids game during all the pre-release hype and picked it up last week for £9, so far really enjoying it.

What's the deal with level creation? It kind of throws you in at the deep end, doesn't it?

I've played through the first two story areas, The Garden and the next one, not 100% (or anywhere near probably

) and opened up the creation moon thing, went there to have a look, got a tutorial abut grabbing things with the lassoo thing and moving them where you want, so far so good, then the tutorial stops and that's it. I thought I'd done something wrong, so went through it again, but nope, just leaves you hanging

Do I need to unlock more stuff or something to get more tutorials?

When you are in the create mode there should be a '?' in your popit. Keep selecting that to step through each of the tutorials. When that no longer appears (or if it hasn't yet) then there should be icons/tools in your goodies bag, etc that have a little '?' next to them. Selecting each of these will prompt you saying that you need to complete the tutorial for that particular tool before you can use it. you can then launch it's tutorial from there. Once the question mark is gone from both your popit screen and from all of the tools then you should be through all of the tutorials (and get a trophy

) with a better idea of how to create your own levels.

I picked up LBP bundled with my PS3 the other day and have to say I'm loving it. Couple of quieries so far though : can I play 2 (or more) players through 1 console without going online? And also I've tried playing other levels on the community but it seems painfully slow to load levels? I eventually loaded one but it was well over 5mins waiting.

Yes, you can play with more than two people locally on your PS3, infact it's up to four players I believe depending on the amount of controllers you have of course

Though I haven't played this for a long time (though I will definitely get back to it at some point) I don't ever remember the levels taking five minutes to load, two maybe three at the most.

I have noticed that the community levels can take a little while to load, however never as long as 5 min. What time of day was this and what speed is your internet link?

To be honest I haven't played it for ages. Not through dis-like, I love it. I have moved house, been in hospital etc, so I need to get back into it. Have people on here continued to make levels? Can you search successfully by username now?

It was around 10/10.30 last night. My Internet connection is fine, never had any issues playing xbox live? I'm also running my PS3 via Ethernet cable for extra reliability. Maybe it was just the LBP servers were running slow? It's been the only time I've tried it so I can't really compare.

To search for a username just put @ in front of the username in the search box.

I.e. One of my levels is called Alien Invasion. So... to search for that specific level you'd put "Alien Invasion" (and probably get a million results and never find mine

) or to search for me and all of my levels you'd put "@feaviolp"

That is a bit odd. Maybe just give it a try a few more times and see if it is the same. Maybe try the same level again and see how long it takes to load it this time?

Ive been on the community quite a bit since the other night and everything is working perfectly!

The LBP server (or my internet connection) must have been running slow at the time.

Managed to sort out the problem I had with the creation tutorial

I'd just been following what was happening on the screen and moving the stuff about and thought I'd finished. Then I just happened to walk past the big character next to the TV screen and a speech bubble popped up and I realised there was an actual goal to complete the tutorial

Once I'd done what was required, off I went and the other tutorials were available to me.

Does anyone know the secret to those sort of pink with green stripes bouncy platforms? I can hardly get my guy to bounce up on them at all, so I'm pretty much stuck on the Wedding Reception level. Is it a timing thing or something or do you need to do something else, other than press the jump button?

You have to time your jump so that you are jumping from the platform as it reaches the top of it's 'bounce back'.
