Re: LittleBigPlanet Play & Help Thread

this has probably been asked on many a thread, but as I'm lazy I will ask again

Can a normal webcam work with the PS3 as a cheap option to the "eye"?

I haven't got the game yet, but on the BETA the Playstation 2 EyeToy worked for me.
There's no way I'm buying an Eye when most games work fine with a webcam/PS2 EyeToy.

Don't have to do anything - i just turned on my mic and every time i speak Sackboys lips move. Don't know why it wouldn't be working for you.

Yeah my 360 camera works with most PS3 games which have camera functionality (PES etc.) and in the XMB, but sadly it doesn't work for this game.

I had a little blast with this online last night and it's a fantastic game, i was playing people i didn't know and one of them slapped me off a horse.

Anyway can you set the game to private to play just your friends and if so how?

Cheers guys

Re: LittleBigPlanet Play & Help Thread

I played this online for a bit last night and was really enjoying it. The "party" system works really well, with you following people around the worlds and back to their pods.

The only thing I was a bit unsure of was when I wanted to leave and go back to single player? I kept going back to my pod and people kept following me, there didn't seem to be a "leave multiplayer" option anywhere?

Do you have to just kick them out of your pod? Seems a bit harsh!

Best thing to do is just use the text box in Popit and say something like 'sorry chaps, about to switch off, see you around' They should get the message and skiddadle.

See the yellow barrels? Well when wearing the jetpack, grab one of those and out it into the hanging box. Do this twice and the door will open.

that freaked me out last night, or rather it freaked my wife out!

I was stalked by a cute sackgirl last night......tried a mp level with my wife, who moaned that it wasnt 'just us' anymore, so we finished it and left, arriving back in my wee pod. Except one of the other players then appeared also, a cute pink sackgirl with bunny ears.

It was bizarre enough to have someone appear in your pod unexpectedly, but for a cute sackgirl who then blows hearts at you and goes moo, while your wife is glaring and asking "Who this then huh? Is this why you play these games, huh?".......I was literally rofl'ing.

Got to love pregnant wives and their hormones, not to mention this wonderful game

very good, mine would be just the same!

In the Beta when selecting a level you could choose to 'play on our own' then others wouldn't be able to join you unless they were a friend and you accepted their request to join. I assume this is still in the full game (better be!)

Just to add to that, if you fly off to the left side (where you just came from) and jump on to the tree tops there are some collectibles there and a sticker trigger switch.

Also, holding X while jetting about makes you rocket along faster.

You know how some collectibles can only be got to with 2 or more players, will every player in that game get the collectibles or just the player who actually collects them? Would hope its the former but I'm not 100% sure.

Everyone playing the level gets all the objects. In the Beta I remember someone collecting Trainers and I said (in text box) damn I wanted those but when I checked I got them as well anyway!

This part got me scratching my head for quite a while was grabbing and swinging the box, till i realised u could puck the barells up - i guess you really have to appreciate how deep and clever some of the puzzles are and the fact that you have to apply yourself a bit more than other games

Thought it was, but weren't 100% sure. Can't remember now, I think it was a created level but they must have been originally available in level 2 or 3 of the Garden level for them to have been available as a prize in the first place?

Re: LittleBigPlanet Play & Help Thread

didn't know where else to ask this but is it worth buying LBP if:-

A) your not very creative and probably won't do much with the level creation tool
b) my house is the venue for friends gathering at weekends & evenings, can you play the entire game locally with 3 friends does it split the screen up? and is it worth it for coop alone?

I have been following this game ever since first saw it I just worry as I don't play many games on the PS3 if I were to pick it up would the novelty wear off easily?

even if you don't do much with the creation tools yourself there are so many levels to check out made by other people I doubt you'd get bored. And yes you can play locally with 3 of your mates. Co op is a blast. You all play on one screen and you cannot stray too far from the group otherwise a timer starts and it will vapourise that player. The game encourages you to help each other out, not run away from your sack buddies

Blimey, how good is this!! Just did the 1st savanah level and already its itching me that i cant quite reach a sticker!! This is gonna be so addictive for me. I have seen on previous vids a zebra head.... And i just got it, so early on. Our 4 year old daughter was like "be a zebra, be a zebra"! so i had to.

Oh, i played someones own level and "hearted" it. When i go to my levels, it isnt there??

Skydive, when you 'heart' a level I think that you can find it again by going to 'cool levels' then scroll the text on the right at the bottom so it changes to 'recent levels' and then 'hearted levels'. That might not be quite right though, it's been a while since I did it.
