Is that a rant at the delay, or the idea for a user created level? it sounds like it could be good in multi player?

I agree there's only get a small number of people but thats enough in these days of media frenzy and very religious people (from both Muslims and Christians). They both have a minority who will genuinely believe protesting is right, and the media love to cover these stories which encourages them to do it. Which is sad, because its just a song. Why cant we all just get along.....

Obviously the "offended party" must have been playing the full release version of the game ?.

Presumably the "offended party" ought to be receiving a visit from someone for having the game before the release date especially if it hasnt reached the release date in any territory yet ?.

I would be seeking clarification on that if I were Sony etc.

I think were best off not posting any more speculation, were posting stuff thats wrong/out of date etc. something will get posted thats an official statement once its released so we dont have to speculate

Delay confirmed by Sony on CVG Here. Yes its to do with the lyrics of a licensed track. No new date announced.

SCEE has just confirmed that LittleBigPlanet has slipped because “the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an” in one of the licensed background tracks, but has not supplied a new release date.

The game was previously scheduled for an October 24 release.

VG247 has learned that the game is already at retail in both the UK and other European countries.

Heavy speculation has surrounded a slip this afternoon.

Sony just issued a statement on the matter:

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

We’ll confirm the new launch date shortly.

It’s unclear at the moment if this means the game is to be completely recalled.

What a complete and utter disgrace that a few whiney little barstewards have put a delay on what was/is going to be the biggest release this year.

Im seriously considering cancelling my pre-order and not buying the game at all due to sony backing down to these whiney little .... instead of doing the right thing and telling them where to go.
