I just saw this over on another website, and went to the beta page to sign up.
I don't know if I'll get in though, they're probably looking for people who will really make use of the new features rather than more relaxed LBP gamers like me, who don't really make many levels.

What a week this is turning out to be. Uncharted 2 beta, now LBP water beta, all I need is MAG beta and i'm sorted

I remember them saying that they would pick people to beta test based on "who would make the most use out of the new water features". I figured that they might have meant people who do a lot of level creation, but like you say, it's probably just random

got hope to a nice little email telling me I'm in the water Beta will give it a bash over the weekend.

Soon as I heard I was on the cogs in the head start turning again - submarine? Paddle boat? hovercraft? That's what littleBig Planet is all about I guess

Can't say much, NDA and all that....but I think you will be presently surprised.
There was a video leaked by someone who was on the beta (they're not now!)
