Re: The Official LG LH3000 LCD Thread

Blindkiller, that sounds like a fantastic deal to me... I bought a package from currys yesterday with the LG 42LH3000, a cool oval black stand, a blue ray player, HMDI cable and a sky remote (not part of the deal) for £751.99. In the shop yesterday the tv alone was £549. Anyway the tv package I thought was great and looks brilliant in my livingroom. Im really happy it looks good sounds good, though defo want to upgrade to HD with sky now as the picture quaulity is so much better. All in all Im pretty happy with my package and I thought the price was brilliant compared to other deals I`d seen. I`d go for it!

Re: The Official LG LH3000 LCD Thread

Thanks mate, yeah thats the deal i saw, plus there is an extra £30 off with an online code, how much is the LG extra warranty? is it cheaper than the instor warranty?

Have you found any problems with the T.V or is all ok?

Is there an optical out on the T.V or not?

Re: The Official LG LH3000 LCD Thread

First off I never take warranty`s for anything so no idea about the cost, been stung before with 1. Just checked the back of the set and there is an "optional audio digital out" socket... no idea what its for but I think that might be what your looking for. Its only been 1 day but so far we are thrilled with the tv but then I did buy it mainly for price and how good it looked though had done some research before I went ahead so Im hoping that its all been worth it.

Right, firstly, i got one from currys instore on saturday. I originally went for the 32 inch they had advertised on TV, but it was going to replace a 26" Acer display, and since I sold my HD Projector to get it, didnt seem justifiable.

Walked in the store, and seen the 32" for £348 I believe, but they had the 42" next to it, and smartly had a PS3 plugged into it, with a pad, so I was watching some vids on PS3 and XMB looked fantastic, I was sold, and as soon as I noticed the £550 price tag, I got one.

Got it home, and for size I'm glad I got the 42", plugged it in, did the usual smacked on some of the latest blu-rays and was blown away, the quality is VERY good with the PS3. It's setup menus are awesome too, I turned on game mode and it's perfect for me.

Now, this is the part I'm really happpy about, and very suprised, my partners dad wanted to see it, and since he's hard of hearing wanted to check out the sound (since as he said, the new TV's are usually **** with sound) and I just happen to agree, hence why when I brought it home, the PS3 was already plugged into my Logitec Z-5500 5.1 setup.

So before he come around, I selected output sound via HDMI on PS3, and I couldnt quite believe what I heard, I thought that it was still coming out of my logitec speakers, I actually got up, and turned off the speakers at the wall to check! The sound quality on this thing is 'outstanding' and considering I'm compairing to logitec Z5500's then yes, I'm use to **** hot sound.

Since moving in my new house the sound system is upstairs and the big sub takes upto much room and is behind the new TV, I' putting my Z550's on ebay tomorrow, get rid of the sub and extra speakers, and enjoy the sound directly from a TV. Did i think this was gonig to be the case? NO WAY.

Oh a note on the sound, it has SRS make sure to turn it on, as it makes it sound like surround sound, god knows how it works, but i've had loads of TVS with it before and it did nothing, with this TV it works. INSAINE.

It's back upto £799 now, and I just found out it's actually a 2009/2010 range and is new out.

Whoever got it ordered, enjoy.

Re: The Official LG LH3000 LCD Thread

Probably as they sold too many and realized they couldn't meet the demands.... I hope not though. Call me cynical but I don't trust retailers like dixons group to come through with the order. Surely it must be a loss leader at that price for something that new.

Re: The Official LG LH3000 LCD Thread

I plan to order the 37" model from littlewoods within the next few days, obviously due to it being from a catalogue, the price is high, but i am limited to catalogues and or Argos and, so far this LG is the newest, and most impressive tv within the 5-600 pound mark.

After 2 weeks of reading reviews I cannot justify spending 700 quid on a sammy 6 series, when for 200~ less you can get this. Top notch telly LG. Now i just gotta pick a suitable stand :/

Has anyone played Killzone 2 on this TV yet? Damn i want it now :>

What exactly is meant here by "3:2 Pulldown"? Does this mean that 24Hz input is accepted, but is presented at 60Hz? Telecine judder is not something I would brand as "Real Cinema".

The specs on the UK site (LG 32LH3000 : LG UK) currently state "24p Real Cinema (24p 5:5 Pull down)". This suggests to me that the video is played back at 120Hz, which (as a multiple of 24) sounds great.

Are these two statements contradictory, or have I misinterpreted the meaning of "3:2 Pulldown" in this context? If the former, which is correct?
