hard drive problem

hi guys sorry im a bit of a noob i got a new LG 42 Plasma tv i got a seagate hard drive i tried to hook up the hard drive to watch tv shows on the tv but i've had no luck. I turned on the dvd ( can't find remote ) to get it on that channel but no luck any ideas how i can get the hard drive to work on the tv much appericated thanks

Sorry matey, the USB on the LG TV's don't support video clips. only JPEGs and MP3's....

but the problem is i can't get the hard drive workin at all once its plugged on it doesn't come on at all works fine everywhere is so i know its not the hard drive just the damn tv

I'm not sure what hard drive you're trying to plug in to the TV.... that TV can't accept a Hard drive connection.... you need to provide model numbers or it won't make any sense!!....

my hard drive is a Go Seagate FreeAgent Go 120GB Hard Drive 2.5" 5400RPM 8MB USB2.0

trust me, if you connect that up to the TV (directly, using USB) then the TV will ONLY display pictures and music. NOT movies. There are a couple of other makes of TV (Panasonic?) that support movies (MP4 or Divx perhaps) via USB but not LG.

Sorry, to clarify - you can't get the hard drive to work at all - even with image files..?

Once I'm sure what the problem is I can pass on to LG's techies if need be
