Got it through e2save on orange, tried to get a free laptop out of it but had no luck, the guy said i was lucky to get the phone for free.

he said that due to the fact i am in the highest band / group with ornage then i get a free upgrade.

Disappointed, bit of an understatement

Hi all, I have jsut stumbled upon this forum, and I HAD to respond.

I seriously hope no-one has got this phone. I bought mine SIM-free a couple of months ago, and I honestly swear that I have never owned a more inept and poorly designed phone.

I have tried to get in touch with LG with a raft of comments and complaints about the product, and only just managed to speak to someone this evening, who very kindly informed me that even though their email section of the LG website is broken (!), I can send all my comments and complaints in a LETTER (thats right, a letter, NOT an email), to the Customer complaints section at their office in Slough, UK.

Can the rest of you your peeps really honestly say you like the fact that text messages take 2 seconds to display? Or that the text message writing function is disasterously poor, and the position sensing function is so ropey that it switches between portraint and landscape mode even if you threaten to lean it to the side. And than have to wait for anything up to 5 seconds for it to return back to the portrait mode?

And then there is the raft of applications that are avaiable....or, rather, the LACK of them. And the "free" games installed, don;t even get me started on those. Oh yeah, I have been building computers for years, and never have I experienced a more depressing time than trying to get the Chocolate to synchronise with my PC and convert and download mpg's to the phone. I gave up, there is a limit to my patience.

Perhaps you really do like the fact that you HAVE to connect to the internet in order to use the maps function and that even though the phone has inbuilt enhanced-gps, it is useless without a net connection - and requesting information from LG about phone-based self contained map software is a complete waste of time; once again, referred to the LETTER route (!)

The only upshot of this nightmarish two months is that I only had to lose the cost of the phone, and Ib am not tied in to a 2 year contract with the monstrosity.

I sincerely hope everyone else has had a better experience with this phone, and I am very sorry to those who have not.

Sorry for the rant, hope everyone has a good Holidays wherever you are!

Ahh, I see. Well, I hate to be a person who puts people off buying something (especially a shiny gadget!) - all I can say is go try one out for half an hour in a shop and see for yourself, the worst thing about it all is that it takes a couple of weeks for the frustration to really build up - dangerous!

Anyway, good luck with whichever phone you eventually choose
