Smile Buy In-Store or Online?

Hi everyone,

I have been looking at various stores such as Best Buy and Ultimate Electronics to purchase a "Samsung - LCD TV | 52" Series 8 860 1080p Full HDTV | Model: LN52A860" and normal asking prices are at about $3,300.

When i go online i can find the exact same model brand new for right around $2,400 with free shipping/no taxes. Most of the stores online sell a warranty package that ranges from 2-5 years ($199 to $399) and states that if any repairs are needed, a serviceman will come out to do so. We're talking about $1,000 in savings. Any ideas, experiences or recommendations? Thanks in advance!!

Re: Buy In-Store or Online?

I normally buy in shop. It is easier for me to take it there if it breaks down. On the other hand, online stores have cheaper prices, but returning goods can be a hassle I guess.

I don't understand why the pricing policy between on-line stores and a physical store outlet can have a price difference of about a thousand dollars. I'm sure if you look around well enough at your end, you can find a store doing same deal or very close. Some will even be prepare to match the online prices.

Personally, I will buy in a store.

PS:
I believe you need the US version of AV forum though.
