Panasonic TX32/37 -LZD85 vs TH-37PX80B

Torn between the LCD LZD85 and the plasma 37inch.

After reading lots of reviews and plenty of material on this site I could do with some condensed information.

Basically which one is the better TV? What will give me better value for money over the long term. Also is it better to pay £100 more (than from the cheaper internet sites) for the tv from a local store that is offering the 5 year guarantee? Any hazards to watch out for? With a) the tellys and b) the warranty.

I watch a fair bit of footy and other sports and will have a ps3 and Wii rigged up to it eventually. I won't be getting freesat or sky HD, but will be watching through a sky box and dish mostly. I also have a 2year old who, I imagine will be glued to CBeebies when its pouring with rain outside.

Any thoughts and tips would be greatly appreciated
