Smile NEW from Sony: KDL40W4500, KDL40X4500

Just found out that Sony have released info on their 3 new
LCD TV’s which has now made me reconsider which one to get.

I was previously thinking of getting the KDL40W4000
then heard that the KDL40W4500 was coming out in September.

But now have seen that they are releasing the KDL40X4500
which has the "BE 2 PRO" over the "BE 2"

But also if I went for the larger 46" KDL46X4500 it has "RGB LED Backlight"
which can dim down the light leakage from darker portions of the picture.

So now I am unsure which TV to go for.

I will be using it hooked up to my PS3 as well as watching Standard def Sky+

Anyone got any advice on which one should I go for?

I don’t really like to look of the KDL40X4500 as it has two red bars
either side of the screen which could be a little bit distracting.

Below is the link to the info on these TV’s

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/sony-...0080812126.htm

I guess at the end of the day the price will play a part of which set to
get, but at the moment there is no info available on prices for these sets.

Know exactly where you are when deciding on what TV. Have gone down the same path and finally opted for the Sony 40W4500 based on this is the successor to the W4000 (which is an award winning set) with nothing taken out and with the addition of increased contrast ratio and 100mhz technology. There are no reviews to speak of as at 2nd October but am relying on the Sony marque and user reviews. Will post my findings when set delivered and I have test driven. Good luck

Well have had my KDL-40W4500 delivered from Teleworld and WOW! Firstly in respect of Teleworld - I was initially very disappointed that they took my money on order without notification. They quoted delivery of 12-24 working days which I was not prepared to accept particularly as when placing the order I e.mailed them specifically not to take payment without agreeing a delivery date. However I spoke with Steve and told him I was not prepared to fund their cash flow and we agreed a 12 working day delivery and since then Teleworld have been brilliant and responded with absolute professionalism.

The KDL-40W4500 is absolutely brilliant - it produces a clarity of picture in SD digital which is quite mind blowing whilst in analogue the picture is very acceptable - I now can't wait for my 1st HD viewing. Set up was easy although it took 1/2 hour to download EPG settings but the manual said it would. Sound quality is very clear and adjustments abound in all modes. Looking at this set in the showroom can only provide an indication of what you're buying cos when you view it in the ambience of the home environment the effect is totally different and in my case stunning.
People talk about clouding but as far as I can see this isn't an issue and having played a Blade Runner DVD, the blacks are perfect.
Colour and contrast levels are excellent and I have been able to adjust these whilst viewing snooker and the effect is vibrant without any glare.
To summarise overallL I'm happy with Teleworld and would recommend them but don't stand for paying up front and having to wait 24 working days for delivery.
The KDL-40W4500 has so far exceeded my expectations and I look forward to reading the reviews which I feel will support my opinion.

Re: NEW from Sony: KDL40W4500, KDL40X4500

I ordered the Sony KDL40W4500 from Redcoon.pt (I live in Portugal and Redcoon was the only company that I could find that would deliver to portugal) on 12 December thinking that I would receive it in time for Christmas due to their 2 day delivery quote. I paid the same day by bank transfer and they confirmed they had received the money on 15 December.

After chasing them for my TV delivery date, they finally told me that they would despatch it by the 22 December and I would have it within 2 days.

December 24 arrives and still no TV. Their delivery company quoted a delivery date sometime around the end of December (If I wanted my TV in January, I would have waited for the January sales!). I contacted Redcoon and told them that if the TV was not delivered by the 24 December then I wanted my money back. They did everything to pass the buck onto the delivery company as an excuse for their poor customer service.

After much insistance, I managed to get them to agree to refund my money. But guess what, they won't refund my money until their delivery company returns the goods.

I don't know how I stand legally, but they have my money under false pretences and I don't have the money to buy a TV locally.

So Merry Christmas everyone and I hope to get my new Sony as soon as I get my money back from Redcoon.
