sony 40v3000..bands on screen.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows what it is?

I have a sony 40v3000 and a couple of weeks ago i noticed that 1/4 of the way in from the left of the screen there are 2 very faint dark bands going the full length top to bottom.Watching most programmes it is almost unoticable but when watching sport, where the camera pans side to side all the time,it keeps catching your eye.
The tv is just out of sonys warranty but is still in john lewis' warranty. The tv has been taken away to be looked at,but i was curious to know if anyone knows about this problem.
Cheers V1CAR.

Re: sony 40v3000..bands on screen.

a while back I had a problem where I would get a short row of White pixels at the top of the screen . I updated the firmware on the tv (40v3000) using the card slot. And I have never had that problem since. Now I heard a few people had problems with lines ( sounds like your problem but can't be 100%) and the firmware update also cured that. I ain't sure what the actual problem is but if it's the same then a simple firmware update can fix it so it's not that bad.
