Laptop to Samsung LE40m86bd problem

Hi all, my son used to link his old laptop to tv via s-video and all was ok.His new laptop doesn't have s-video,only vga,so I've bought a vga lead and connected it but the tv can't see it.
Is there a setting I should change somewhere?

cheers,Jim

Re: Laptop to Samsung LE40m86bd problem

Hi,

usually laptops have a key to activate the additional monitor - on mine for example I have to hold the blue FN button, then press the key (probably one of the top F keys) with a picture of 2 monitors multiple times (toggling between external, internal or both monitors in parallel) until I have the picture on the screen.

Good luck.

Simon
