Help with 42lg7000 lcd

Hi Everyone.
I am thinking of buying the 42LG7000 100Hz LCD.My budget is up to £1000.
I would appreciate and welcome any thoughts on this LCD.
I have also looked at Plasma TVs but am concerned with the running in period and screen burn.
Thank you for your help and Merry Christmas to all the AV members.

Re: Help with 42lg7000 lcd

I've got a lg6100, which I'm pretty impressed with , but the sound is poor. Dont know if the 7000 is as thin as the 6100 , but if it is then the sound isnt going to blow you away. You'll need a surround amp/some external thing at least.

Re: Help with 42lg7000 lcd

I bought on about 4 weeks ago .... very impressed so far. Bit more expensive than the 6100, but I prefered the design of the case. Like the other post says, the sound isn't the best, but I got the TV in a package from currys with an LG (upscaling) home theatre kit (HT503) and the stand for £1080. This was an on-line deal and wasn't advertised in the shop, even though I ordered it from there.

And that was way back when the VAT was 17.5% !!
