What's the biggest LCD widescreen display?

Not really thinking about replacing my CRT RP, as overall it's very good for the dosh.

However I do like the idea of a screen-only display.

The higher resolution, no possibility of screenburn, lower power consumption, longer lifespan & higher reliability of LCD panels over Plasma seems favourable.

So how much would a 42" Widescreen LCD screen cost? Are there any out? And what resolution are they?

Thanks

Hi Nathan,

I think the biggest LCD at the moment is 40" - available from Samsung. 52" and 54" models have been demonstrated at CES.

Ta. Any prices? Or is it "If you have to ask, you can't afford it"? :P

I would need S-Video (MC-1 OSD), Component (pure R1 DVD), VGA input (Laptop), 2 x SCART- preferbly both RGB; Freeview & possibly another DVD player (R2/multiregion)

I guess DVI would be good, although not for HTPC- perhaps in the future new HD-DVD players will have this?

Hi Nathan,

Well, after a brief search I came up with the LW-40L1 at:-

I've been hearing nothing but good things on the NEC 40". 1280x768, 600:1 contrast, DVI, 170 degree H&V viewing angle, loads of inputs but no scart £4300. Gonna get a demo when our suppliers pull their thumbs out...
