Samsung LE40A656 white images distort from pvr

hi, thanks for the info on here, been a great help setting up and tweaking my Samsung set

Hope someone can help, I've got a slight "funny" with my freeview PVR (Daewoo 160G Freeview) and my set - whenever there's mainly white on the screen the image distorts as:

as soon as the image changes to something non-white it's fine. I dont have this problem with my anything else (PS3 on hdmi, Xbox360 on hdtv component, NTL-box on av2, built in tv & DTV) just the freeview on av1 (still get the problem with it on av2). This happens whether I'm watching tv live or a recording.

I didn't have this problem with my old crt set, so dont think there's anything wrong with the pvr - but due to no problems with anything else, I'm assuming the tv isn't to blame. Any ideas?

I think the "as bought" firmware was 1.16 and now upgraded it to 1.20, but still have the problem. (btw - anyone with problems getting the set to upgrade try a different usb-stick. Originally was using a cheapo usb1 stick and the tv just wouldn't see it but worked straight away with my newer 2g usb2 stick).

i know it's only a freeview PVR, so not the end of the world, but it's handy from time to time.

As it doesn't happen with the NTL box (on AV2), I'd put my money on the Daewoo box being at fault.
Can you connect the PVR to the TV using any other cable type? If you can, it might be worth trying it with a different cable and see how it behaves...
