100Hz is the only advantage over the W4000 reviewed in May. Its even worser with the Undefeatable edge enhancement on 1080i/1080p over the sharpness.

Sony
Very strange, they still prise the TV so much even if it has the sharpness problem, i always thought Vincent and David dislike this very much and after reading most of their Sony reviews it sounds a bit like they are Sony fanboys especially Vincent.

Anyway Vincent is criticizing W4500 for not having White balance, well X4500 has it even in 40" but crap i still didnt find it nowhere in my country, i don't want top buy the W4500 and especially not Z4500 which is minimal better and way more expenisve, X4500 is the one to go, better procesing and more settings but damn Sony has to ruin everything and make it so hard to get this TV.

Select Analog mode.
Switch off the TV using the Remote
Press I+ > 5 > Vol+
Switch on the TV using the Remote.

I don't remember the name of the submenu, but I believe it's the one containing all the software versions and firmware versions.

There is no good offer yet in Austria, the cheapest is 1640€, imo a bit too expensive and it's too far to go, the most far i would go is Graz and the price i would pay is 1500€ no more.

I have contact some Slovenina stores if they can order it for me or if they will get it and none of them has any idea if they will get it

Re: Sony W4500 Series 100Hz,50.000:1 Dynamic contrast,DLNA

I enquired about delivery times of the 52W4500 at my local Sony Centre this weekend. They said the first shipment will be on 10-Dec and that was Sony's official date for the UK. When I pointed out that many people on these forums have already got them he used the standard line that they were not yet available in the UK so must therefore be imports.

Is this true as I am still waiting for my 52W4500 that I ordered over 4 weeks ago.

It's probably more about to what degree does the sharpness issue effect the overall picture quality. And the reviewer has probably deemed that even though it's there, it doesnt take away the fact that the tv still has some of the best overall pictures of any lcd out there.

Sony centre in Farnham said they could get them week before last so that doesn't tally with what you have been told. I got one from the Internet. It had a UK plug and just the UK manual. I've had grey imports before. You normally get a euro plug and a rainforest of instruction manuals.

Think you local sony centre are telling a few porkies

Rub gently with soft cloth. You may use a slightly moistened cloth with a little mild washing up liquid.Do not use any type of abrasive.

Most washing up liquids contain varying amounts of salt.
Just as you shouldn't use washing up liquid on car paint, I wouldn't use it on a TV screen.
I just use an e-cloth and water.

Nice one!

Would the glass cleaner cloth be ok to use or is there a more suitable one?

  • 100 Hz - best motionflow they have seen on any LCD
  • New Guide+
  • Better black Levels
  • Better colours
  • Increased viewing angle
  • DLNA
  • Game mode
  • Reduced input lag

I use a microfiber glove, I put a tiny amount of water on one side of the glove. I wipe the screen with the lightly wet side, then I wipe the screen with the dry side. This doesn't leave any traces or marks.

Just to be precise the colours were given a very similar write up and rating and the w4500 had the same measured blacks as the w4000. Viewing angle was also measured the same.

Manual clearly states that you may use a diluted mild detergent solution. Is Fairy liquid not a mild detergent?
