Please forgive me for starting a new thread but the "official thread" is massive and it's difficult to extract all the relevant data for tuning the TV.
I have the 40X3000 and think its fantastic, but it can look horrible (mine did) on the shipped picture settings. After a couple of months of playing around with the settings I reckon I've got about the best picture I can, using settings based on what other people have posted on the forums. I propose people (if they're interested) post their settings as per the format below so that it will help others to get the best out of their telly. Rather than could the data by getting into a discussion about the good and bad points.

Notes
TV suffers from slight torchlight patterns on a black screen, but not noticeable in normal viewing.
Motion smearing is also present and has been pretty bad at times, but tweaking to these settings seems to have reduced it to barely noticeable. I think this may be affected by source quality & differences as well as a TV issue. Possibly due to a digital picture being converted to analogue in the PVR being sent to the TV and being converted back to digital again.
When I'm happy with my PS2 & DVD settings I'll also post here.
