Unhappy toshiba 37xv555d pc connection problems

hey all,

i recently bout the 37xv555d off amazon, for use with my 360 and pc, with the pc the main user of the telly.
The 360 connects up fine, ace picture, love it.

But the problem is the pc, i have my pc with a dvi output (nvidia 8600 GT) so i went to my local maplins and bought a dvi to hdmi adapter to attach to the end of my dvi cable. Plugged it in, nothing displays on the hmdi channels or the PC channel, tried it in all the hdmi ports, even the 360 one which i know is fine, nothing. So i thought ok, mabe its the resoultion, so i set it to a different resolution and refresh rate, as per my manual, and still nothing.

Give up on the hdmi, went back to maplins and bought a dvi to vga adapter, and plugged it into the pc connection. Again still nothing, its making me think either the pc is duff, or it wont except my graphics card?? is there anything i can do except try find another pc or laptop to test it with??

has anyone had this trouble??

thanks for reading

dan

Re: toshiba 37xv555d pc connection problems

Hi Dan sounds like a similar problem to mine i get desktop working at 1920 x 1080 resolution via dvi-hdmi also from maplin, looks great but it will not display pc games at all, have you tried using a standard vga cable this does work on mine but its low res only
at least you can see that your tv is accepting the signal from your pc.

this problem is giving me the twitch phoned Toshiba support and they were useless good luck m8

Have a look on the forum theres a thread about Tosh Regza tvs

Re: toshiba 37xv555d pc connection problems

Many PC games run at a different / lower resolution til you set them up to the correct resolution in the game settings. I'd suggest connecting a normal monitor to the system, setting the game to work at the supported resolution and refresh for the screen and see if that makes a difference.

Otherwise have you got a PS/2-port-looking type of connector? If so tyour card may well support component-video out via use of a cheap dongle. Much more flexible on resolutions etc and I use component-out from my PC instead of HDMI and works great. I used an 8600GT in another machine for component-out and works great.

Hope that helps.

Dan.
