Full list of IPS panel TVs required

Are there any out there besides the Panasonic range? A number of TVs that some have claimed to be IPS turn out to be sporting cheaper panels from the likes of Sharp or Samsung.

Sadly it doesn't, because both Toshiba and Hitachi use cheaper VA/ASV panels in the majority (if not all) of their recent models.

Ahh well I'm afraid your best bet is to contact IPS or search on a TV by TV basis.

Why don't you just get a panasonic?.. surely problem solved

I've emailed each of the main companies, but I'm not holding my breath for a response. The Panasonic was returned due to non-defeatable edge enhancement and unreadable coloured text.

Hmm thats odd - nobody else reports such issues... I have a panny and its brilliant...

Instead of e-mailing the companies just download their LCD brochures.... they usually list the screen type in them.... then it saves you waiting for responses.

Only Panasonic models (except LXD80) have quality IPS panel

S-IPS from LGD on the other hand is poor to average at best, which are usually found in budget models.

PS: Why would you want a IPS panel anyway

PPS: Panels from Samsung SDI and AUO are certainly not cheap, and are best on the market.

BTW, in the large display arena, the best panels come from AUO and SDI. Then Sharp, LG, CPT and finally CMO.

Matsushita-Hitachi IPS pro will go between AUO-SDI and Sharp.
