Re: Samsung le40a856 settings help

Just looked at at your other posts, if it is for a SKY+ box then check the picture settings in the SKY box are set to.
16:9 not 4:3 and RGB not PAL, use a quality Scart cable from the box to the TV and make sure it is plugged into a RGB Scart enabled socket as all sockets may not be RGB capable.

First you tell people to mount their TV to a bracket using the base screws and then say to use any 7 series settings for the 8 series... The 78X series is a totally different beast to the 75X series and has LED lighting which I would imagine would greatly change any calibrated settings between them.

Re: Samsung le40a856 settings help

my current setup is the le40a856. i got my 360 elite connected to it using composites (my qed reference hdmi cable is on order and on its way), and a standard def cable box connected using a medium quality scart which i intend to change to a qed scart. as soon as i can afford it i will be buyinga ps3, a dedicated blu-ray player and a home theatre system.

Re: Samsung le40a856 settings help

I think you can do all the adjustments you like but until you sort your cables out you may struggle to put everything back as it was.
As for the Cable box, can you select RGB and 16:9 at least?
Anything by composite will be shocking?

Re: Samsung le40a856 settings help

Yeh Im on it Shaqs, Hopefully I'm gona try get two different settings, one for lights on n one for lights off! But yeh your right, you can calibrate your tv loads with those dvds but depending on whether your using your xbox or blu ray you'll need to tweak it here and there! Bit annoyed though to find out the LE40A856 has about a 30-50ms input lag, ifya wana try it for yourself try guitar hero on the xbox and go to the video settings and calibrate the lag. Lowest result I had was 31ms and the Highest was 52ms. Not impressed!!
