Any information/reviews about this LCD? I can find stuff about the smaller models in the XV range but nothing at all about this

Toshiba: 52" Regza LCD TV's - XV Series

Hi.

I can find no 'professional' reviews, but I picked up one of these at the weekend to replace my PS50Q97HD Samsung Plasma that I've had for 18 months, and I am truly blown away! Maybe it's partly the jump up to 1080p, which I'm sure some of is. Whatever, the HD images this set produces are really amazing. Upscaled DVD at 1080p 24fps is stunning really, but BluRay and HD DVD at this level are IMMACULATE! It beats the Samsung hands down, for colour, detail, black levels and contrast. It took a few days to get used to the LCD images instead of Plasma, but now evrything I have looks stunning, and I though it looked excellent before!

Settings are important, and I would leave out completely the 'black - white' settings found in the picture control menu. I have mine set as follows:

Contrast - 100
Backlight -100
Brightness -45
Colour -45
Sharpness -20
Black - White - Off
Cinema Mode - Off
Colour balance - Cool
DNR - Auto
MPEG NR - Off
3D Colour - on
Only colour adjustment I made under the 3D Colour setting though was to reduce to -5 the middle Red setting.

Use Exact Scan always.

The results using my equipment, SKY HD, HD DVD, and Blu Ray, through Chord Company HDMI cables, and via my Onkyo 705se amp are truly fantastic!

I await with interest reading any upcoming professional reviews, but these are my very very satisfied results so far.

Good luck! This set is hghly recommended!!

I 'am also looking at getting this or the 46RV but cant make up my mind. Quantity over quality, 52" 8 bit panel or 46" 100hz 10bit panel? decisions decisions.
