Samsung LE40A756 lipsync problems

I recently boought a Samsung LE40A756 but have noticed a severe lipsync issue on Freeview channels. It doesn't always happen but is frequent and doesn't clear easily. Even a channel change doesn't clear it.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Re: Samsung LE40A756 lipsync problems

Was looking at the 7 & 8 series and little issues are starting to creep out of the woodwork...

Is it just freeview ? ? Does it do this on other Scart/HDMI players ? ?

I've found a workaround - switch to an analogue TV channel and then back to the digital channel - this will clear the issue. (At least until the next time). Switching to external outputs or into standby doesn't clear the issue.

I haven't found a repeatable sequence to reproduce the issue yet though.

External inputs such as HDMI, component, SCART etc. are not affected.

I called the Samsung help line and they told me it was a fault with my tv and I could have it repaired. To me it seems more likely to be a software issue and not a fault with this unit but if I can find a repeatable sequence to produce the issue I will let them come out and have a look.

Re: Samsung LE40A756 lipsync problems

I have the same issue. But only while watching some DVDs with a DVD player connected with AV-Scart and coax sound-cable... some of them, not all of them.. which is strange...

the same DVDs do not have issues while played on my Playstation 3, which is connected with HDMI-cable and optical audio cable...

did you find a solution for this problem?

Re: Samsung LE40A756 lipsync problems

Got this problem on source via scart and internal digital tuner but only when taking the sound source from the TV to an external amp. Changing the TV sound settings to external. Havent tried via HDMI as taking that sound source direct to amp, as external output from TV is documented as being only 2 channel and wanted full suround signal.

Shows it self as occasionally speach and lips get far enough away to make you wonder, but also seems to come back into sync as well on ots own.

have tried (so far)
taking the sound out from the TV either via coax or optical and still get the problem.

and updating the firmware, which went fine in itself but again did not resolve.

will update as I try differant things

Re: Samsung LE40A756 lipsync problems

from the samsung website, hope the lnk below works.
But basically support tab, search on your model model, then select download centre and it gives you the manuals. Select the tab for firmware and then follow the instructions.

Download Center SAMSUNG

latest version at this moment in time is 10.10.0

Thumbs up Re: Samsung LE40A756 lipsync problems

I looked in the download centre before but there was no firmware tab then, only manuals.

Anyway I've applied the fw and initial results are positive. It seems to have resolved the major lipsync issue that I was experiencing on DVB-T channels.
