Sorted! I think it was actually a problem with the timings when using the TV as a second monitor. When I got into the Advanced section of the nVidia control panel and forced the use of the CVT-RB (Coordinated Video Timings-Reduced Blanking) timing standard, my desktop appeared. The PC Mode does indeed seem to be somewhat "flakey" as the TV has not been consistently detecting it. I think this is mainly due to the quality of the 5-metre VGA lead I bought for the whole £2.57 inc. P+P from a well-known auction site. Since VGA is analogue it really does pay to use a quality cable

Glad it's working for you, always nice to hear success stories (especially ones that are resolved so quickly!).

Any idea's on what an immaculate 2 year old LE55A956 would be worth now? Mine isn't for sale yet but may be soon and trying to get an idea of what to ask for it. I dont need to sell it and may keep it for the bedroom if I cant get enough to make it worth while selling.

I'm still subscribed to this thread so I get emails about new posts, but I'm not sure how many other people also do this as there have not been many posts this year. It might be worth your while posting in some more active threads about newer Samsung models to see if you can get any quotes in for your TV. Otherwise you may be waiting quite a while to hear back from anyone reading this old A950 thread.

BTW, I can give you a tenner for it if you're really desperate

Yeah I may do that, just wondered if any other owners had recently sold one and how much they got for it. To be honest I'm a bit torn as I would like to try a bit of 3D but all the sets I look at still dont impress as much as the A950 does so I may just keep it.
