Yeah but still, 4500€ and 6400€ for X4500, come on that's too much even if it's MSRP.

Yeah, I've been sitting here patiently waiting for the 40W4000 to hit a sub £800 price. It has now - but as always something else is just around the corner!

So I've decided I won't upgrade until next year now. I'm hoping that new RGB LED models get great reviews - and that they filter that technology down to the 40" model. Then *maybe* if the price is right I'll make the jump.

In the meantime, I've got a bee in my bonnet for a CD Player / Headphone amp system for this year.

That's exactly what i would like to have, a 40" TV with RGB LED

Sony could done this already for this year but they decided not to, have no idea why

i wouldnt worry to much about these prices, they usually come in lower

Re: The new Sony X4000 series

the W4500 prices are almost 98% the MSRP's when they come out but the X4500 can of course drop until the release.Dont forget the 950 will come first so sony can lower the X4500 price depentant on the samsung price

Re: The new Sony X4000 series

So when do you guys think these will go on sale in the UK?

Also, looking at the spec. there is a claimed contrast ration of 55000:1 on the w4500 whereas the w4000 had 30000:1.

These are huge numbers but do you think the difference will be noticeable and how will this have been achieved (is it a function of the 100Hz).

The more I think about this and the price of the 4000 I am now very confused which one to buy ???

Re: The new Sony X4000 series

I'd like to know the same thing regarding the width of the 46X4500. It would be nice if they built a version with detachable speakers for people who aren't going to use them (the side ones just get in the way!)

Re: The new Sony X4000 series

Does anyone know the UK price for the 46X4500 and the 55X4500?

Dissapointed to see it is not gunmetal finish!

Chrosgeo is the 55X4500 the top Sony TV or is there another modle coming out this year which is superior? I read that you said there was going o be a surprise with other models before Christmas

Cheers

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Sony don't have glossy black bezel on X4500. It should be metal like the X3500!

Very happy - the height of the 55" with a stand is less than my 52X3500 with a stand so it should fit nicely in the recess in my lounge

not sure yet,it all depends on the price, the price quoted on a german site was
6,300 euroes which is £5k...and that would prob be around £3500 trade and to be fair if i had to spend £3.5k on a tv it would be the 60"pioneer

ive sold my 52"x3500 and its being picked up tomorrow night

for short term ive just bought a 40V4000 (£348 from work)which will move into the bedroom untill i decide for the main set

Re: The new Sony X4000 series

When WILL prices be announced in the UK and when are dealers likely to be getting first shpiments?
I am in the market for a new and my first LCD and like the technical detail of the 46x4500, but would not want to be paying over 3k for the privilege. Plans are to have one installed for December.

Re: The new Sony X4000 series

The LED backlit prices are way too much, new tech though, so I guess its always going to be the way. Might see if the 40" will be any better than the W4500 in terms of picture quality, whether it will be worth shelling out the extra couple hundred £ for the X.
