Re: Sony Bravia engine Pro vs Sony Bravia engine 2

No one has actually seen a W4000 with the Bravia engine 2 to compare it against the Pro engine but my guess would be that the pro engine will still provide much better motion resolution. I believe the BE2 has been compared to the BE Ex of last year which was a good engine but not a patch on the pro.

Time will tell and I will be doing some testing when the W4000 is available but I think its pretty much a given that the Pro engine will still handle SD material better. While the W4000 certainly has a good contrast ratio it remains to be seen how much better than the X it is with real world material. Contrast is not everything (although very important) and I think it is clear that while with 24 frames material the W with its improved contrast will probably be better, but with everything else the better motion resolution of the pro engine will probably win out. There will be no clear cut winner, I think it will really depend on your viewing habits. As soon as my Sony centre get some in I will do some serious side by side testing

Re: Sony Bravia engine Pro vs Sony Bravia engine 2

Thank you I'l see aswell when my Sony centres gets some in stock. As for contrast isn't everything, that can be seen in the Samsung F96 series which have 500,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (more like 125,000 but anyway.)And yet it doesnt have 100fps bad for sports.

Re: Sony Bravia engine Pro vs Sony Bravia engine 2

Yep theyv got some in.The screen on W4000 looks much brighter because of the contrast and was in general better than the X3000 until the sports channel came on and i noticed some flicker n the W4000.So X3000 great all round TV.W4000 excellent for watching films.

BE2 is better than BE Pro. I have the new W series that utilizes the BE2 engine and the SD handling is much better than the old X series that uses BE Pro. Also, the BE2 allows for good motion without MotionFlow. The new W series that uses BE2 is much sharper than the X series with HD material.
