Samsung 225BW Syncmaster and xbox 360

I recieved ths Syncmaster 225BW for christmas this year. While I know that Samsungs have been part of a "panel lottery" of late, my model does not have a sticker on it to indicate who made the panel.

I have encountered a problem with my xbox360. This happens no matter if i use 420p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p.

I get "dots" of the wrong colours in certain areas of the screen (I think I have eliminated it to areas that change a lot during gameplay). See the attached photo for an indication, look at my shadow on the screen. The white speckles.

These "speckles" move about WITHIN that area randomly, you know like the white/black madness you get on a tv with no signal. They are not always white either, sometimes they are black. They don't just happen in one area, in some games they are in a lot of places. In that image you can see black ones on the back of his neck too. I THINK it's areas that change a lot (or is it areas witha lot of detail)?

Using my tv i used the "still frame" button to take a still frame of the game. The dots where still there. Would this indicate that the dots are not a panel problem?

My xbox is connected via component and I have no vga cable to test with.

Does anyone know of any issues with this monitor/tv and the xbox360, or looking at the specs, can they see any issues with it?

Please bear in mind the problem goes away if i flick the "TV/HDTV" switch on the xbox to "TV" (but I dont want to do this, I paid for an HDTV and it would be nice to have HD games).

Thanks in advance for any help!

Andy.

You state that you have a Samsung 225BW and that you're having the above problem with your 360 even when in 1080i and 1080p. I have a 225BW as well and last I checked when I switched my 360 to 1080 the image goes way off screen and isn't rescaled to fit the monitor because it doesn't do scaling of that sort.

So I guess I'm curious as to whether or not you're actually able to view 1080i and 1080p properly scaled on the monitor or if I'm simply misreading your comments.
