Samsung LE40M87- Parental Lock DTV

Have a new Samsung 40M87 with the obligitary backlight buzz and freeview judder. Long story on how my wife persuaded me to buy it, despite all the warnings I gave her. Anyhow, before I hound Samsung, can anyone tell me how to engage the Parental Lock on Freeview DTV? Pin option to set from No Block - 18, but cannot allocate to a channel. It doesn't automatically rate programme suitability, so what gives?
