Re: Toshiba X3030D Settings and Calibration

Even with the dark screen, can you still bring up the service menu?

If so write down ALL the settings and post them here.

The folowing were posted in this same thread.........try searching for some others.

Sorry I am out of ideas, I am not aware of a button combination for factory settings reset, could be worth googling.

Re: Toshiba X3030D Settings and Calibration

What noone wants to tell you is that if you've knackered the tv by fiddling in the service menu you might be looking at buying a new tv.

Your only chance would be to deny everything and claim on the warranty. A Toshiba service engineer could probably fix it but if you tell him you were messing in the service menu you might as well say you had the back off and were playing with the soldering iron.

Hopefully whoever is coming round knows what to do.

I strongly suggest you just say the set suddenly stopped working.

Re: Toshiba X3030D Settings and Calibration

For HTPC users with the 42X3030D, I was reading about 48Hz display LCD TV's, and it gave me another nudge to try and get Powerstrip timings working.

1280x720@48Hz and 1280x720@47.952Hz.........

These timings seem to work ok, I've got XP SP3, S939 X2 4200 and HD2600XT (via DVI>HDMI), 4GB RAM ('ish). I'm using reclock with MPC-HC (only overlay works without tearing, EVR & VMR9 no good).

The 47.952Hz is meant to be for 23.976fps*2, it works well, although I've only just set it up and more watching is required.

For both these timings Powerstrip's OSD (CTRL-ALT-O), and Reclock's display properities report these as 48.0Hz (correct to 1 decimal place), however when I go into Powerstrip's advanced timings it has the 48.000Hz and 47.952Hz respectively.

With 23.976fps material I am using the 47.952Hz refreshrate, with 23.976fps LOCKED with reclock.

I appreciate this is Dutch to most people, but it may help somebody.

Re: Toshiba X3030D Settings and Calibration

I was unhappy with the reported refreshrate by Reclock, so I did some more digging, and you have to clean-up out the video timings database, if you change your settings, once done I got both Reclock and Powerstrip to agree on the refreshrate (Powerstrip has a camera icon beside the refrehrate on the main page).

Unfortunately they both agreed on 47.948Hz, so a minor adjustment gave me better framerates. There is still some drift 47.949Hz to 47.953Hz as I watch, but I have read on avsforum.com that ATI's HD series do not have stable clocks.

These timings are for 47.957Hz, which Reclock, and the Powerstrip Refreshrate Camera both report as my target 47.952Hz:-

PowerStrip timing parameters:
1280x720=1280,448,40,208,720,5,5,20,71072,528

Generic timing details for 1280x720:
HFP=448 HSW=40 HBP=208 kHz=36 VFP=5 VSW=5 VBP=20 Hz=48

Re: Toshiba X3030D Settings and Calibration

These are the timings for 1920x1080@47.957 (Reported as 47.952 by Reclock), looks ok, watching Clone Wars at the moment, the space ships seem to glide smoothly. I am using the PC aspect ratio option on the 42X3030D settings. I have been here before trying 1080p48, with my Nvidia 6800GT, and I was unsure if the TV was downsampling to 1080p24 and telecin'g to 1080p60, but I think this looks smoother.

PowerStrip timing parameters:
1920x1080=1920,528,44,148,1080,4,5,36,142431,528

Generic timing details for 1920x1080:
HFP=528 HSW=44 HBP=148 kHz=54 VFP=4 VSW=5 VBP=36 Hz=48

VESA detailed timing:
PClk=142.43 H.Active=1920 H.Blank=720 H.Offset=512 HSW=44 V.Active=1080 V.Blank=45 V.Offset=4 VSW=5

Linux modeline parameters:
"1920x1080" 142.431 1920 2448 2492 2640 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync +vsync

Re: Toshiba X3030D Settings and Calibration

Hi, i have been very stupid by changing the service menu settings on my TV and didnt note down the defaults.

Could someone kindly post the default service menu settings? or do i just go with 'Rockeyspeilers' quoted settings?

My GF is going to put me in tommorow soup if she finds out!

Please only helpful posts, remember we've all made mistakes :D

Im sure that everyones service setting is going to be different. Putting in someone else's settings may damage it even further.

Excuse me for the necro,
But I attempted pm'ing relevant posters within the thread with no luck first.

I have the 37" panel. And well. was wandering if anybody ever figured out optimum service mode settings for it?
Sadly, I am currently unemployed. So cannot afford expensive kit to work out my own settings beyond test cards.

I use my panel ONLY as a pc monitor. And do find the settings make a much bigger impact of usability than just with video content.

What sound settings are people using and what exactly is "Stable audio"?

No matter what I do the unit sounds horrible and muddy. In comparison my Sammy LEA656 sounds like a top notch hifi and that's saying something.

Also is there a way to detune the tuner? We only use it as a PC Monitor.
