Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

Hi All,
I have just got mine fixed!!!!!
I used a local tv repair company who have discovered that there is a repair kit available for these (must be a really common problem then) I believe it is something to do with the power supply inside but i will find out for sure when I collect mine at the weekend. Cost £48.00 + vat, not bad I thought.
Try a small local repair company & see if they can do the same for you.

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

I've had one of these since December 2006, and have just got myself a PS3, only to discover the HDMI problem.

Woolies reckon I can get a firmware upgrade for the TV for about £100!!! Not happy

So, has anyone found a way of doing the firmware upgrade themselves, or found a company who will do it for cheaper than £100?

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

I had mine fixed about a year ago (just before the warranty ran out) The guy took it away to upgrade the firmware while they got sent 'THE' cable (aparently theres only a few in country) Anyway the cable never arrived so i asked for my tv back. Then technosonic decided to send out new 'cards' with the new firmware already installed - all the repair guy did was unscrew the case and replace the card with the new one at my house

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

Can't believe these are still being sold. I only had mine for a month bought from WW when smoke started coming out of the back. Went for a refund, didn't want a repair on a tv that was only a month old.

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

I hàve taken my tv for repair at my local repair shop and they said the printed circuit board is faulty hence it stays on standby. they will need to replace the PCB and the problem is they dont have a PCB neither any contact with TECHNOSONIC. can anyone tell me how to obtain this PCB, perhaps from another faulty tv with a good PCB.

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

Just a note to anyone thinking of buying this tv - after reading some posts on here i was made aware of the fuse problem - if you do buy this tv check the fuse in the plug - it should be 5A

Mine had a 13A one in it!

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

Mine is just stock on standby, my local repair man said it is the main PCB in the tv that is faulty and will need to be replaced.

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

Just to update this thread.

Unfortunately I no longer work for the technical side at Woolies (For obvious reasons!), so am unable to assist with any firmware upgrades on this TV.

For any possible info, please call Key Electronics on 01422 203 676.

Apologies.

Re: Technosonic 32" LCD

James,

No need for you to apologise in my mind. Thanks from me for taking the time to help forum members with the upgrade and other problems. While the Tv was never going to win any awards, my set still works as good as it ever did. It certainly doesn't own me anything if it blow up tomorrow.

Best of luck in the future

Cheers

Mark
