Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

Could anyone give me there opinion on how the 32DX7s picture stands up next to the Samsung 32N and Sony 32S2530?

Is the sound honestly as good as the reviews say it is?

Alright, heres what I really need answered about this set. Whats the viewing angle like and will I have any NTSC problems with it? (I have a lot of NTSC DVDs)

This set is starting to look a better deal to me than the Samsung or the Sony.

Any pictures of the DX7 knocking around, I'm torn between this and the 32GDE (Sharp). Plus where's the cheapest I can get a JL to price match this TV?

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

Hi There,

I am currently in the market for a 32" lcd and came across the DX7 in a shop yesterday. I was very happy with the picture quality and the sound was really good too.

I had a read of these thread today and didnt seem to find too many complaints from this tv and i am wondering is this still the case? does anyone know if any problems have cropped up on this tv.

I noticed that this thread started back in 02/06 wondering is there a newer model of this tv out yet?

Thanks

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

I bought my 26DX7 6 months ago, from one of the cheapest places RGBDirect on the internet - saved £250 compared to my nearest stockist. Probably cheaper now.
Only problems I have had
1.are very ocassionaly at switch on,having selected a digital channel it flips back to analog.
2. After period of time on standby, when switching back on the digital display is screwed up - it takes a power off/on to reset the digital logic.
Neither of these have occurred enough times to annoy me.

Otherwise a very good picture. I was fortunate before buying to see one side by side to a Sony. This really showed up the excessive red colour on the Sony.

When playing a DVD I do have to use the zoom button to select 'full' rather than the 16:9 zoom it automatically selects. Most films are wider usually 2.35:1 ratio than the 16:9 (1.8:1 ratio). The full setting displays an undistorted picture with black bands at top and bottom. I guess this will happen on all wide screen sets.

The RGBDirect current prices are £669 for the 26DX7 and £899 for the 32DX7

I have no connection with RGBDirect

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

Had this tv for a while now and have been very happy with it but recently I've started to notice that when I turn it on in I get alot of motion blur and trails (sorry don't know the tech names for these), it does go after about 30mins.

Just wanted to know if this is normal ?

Thanks

All LCDs will show slower response times than normal if they are cold. Is the set in a particularly cold room or corner?

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

After readings masses of comments here , I bought the 32DX
last July.
I liked the picture better than that of the Sony and thought
the sound much better(after some adjustments).
Occasionally, due to my weak SD Freeview signal, I lose sound for
a second and/or get some pixellation ; but it only lasts a second.

I am still marvelling at the picture from my position 8ft (about2 1/2m.)
from the screen.
Definitely a satisfied buyer so far.

Paul.

Just a quick question here, anyone got a Mac hooked up? My TV and my and iMac are quite close to each other, it would be quite easy to run a VGA cable (Via a mini DVI adapted) between the two.

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

Any ideas why I would have no sound on freeview?

Normal 1-5 analogue channels are fine as are all the other inputs but I get nothing whatsoever from freeview despite signal showing full and the picture being fine

It's worth trying a reset of the DTV tuner. Press and hold the top two buttons on the side of the set.

If that doesn't help, try a factory reset in the DTV menu.

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

Thanks for replying.

Tried both of those but no joy.

I've trawled through the manual and every setting I can find but nothing works.

The sound menu has the stereo/mono option greyed out as if there's no audio signal being received.

I also tried upgrading the receiver software (currently says v.2.3) but again that did nothing.

I'm stumped on this one and it's really annoying as I was planning to use freeview in the future.

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

Hi,

I used to have an old Shuttle PC connected to my LT-32DX7 and everything was fine, it displayed 1360x768 with no problem at all.

However that PC died so I replaced it with a newer one that uses the same graphics Nvidia 6200 graphics card. It works fine on my PC monitor at any resolution but I cannot get it to display anything at all on my LT-32DX7 regardless of what resolution I try.

The reolutions I have tried are:

640*480
800*600
1024*768

I thought these would be the most likely to work but no matter which I choose I only get to see the Windows loading screen and then nothing?!

Any advice much appreciated.

Try manually dropping the refresh rate to 60Hz if you haven't already.

Thanks Gary but I think I selected 60hz already.

The Nvidia control panel now has options for manual timings and resolutions etc but I don't want to bork my screen trying these until I am sure.

The remote has sections for controlling DVD players etc. How does this work..is it JVC players only or is there some way that you can key in codes for other makes..particularly sony.

Hello,
I am new in this world, and looking for a good LCD 32" with PIP.
Would it be a good option to acquire this model now? I understand it is old, but is it really old-fashioned or it is a good purchase?
The model is the 32LT-32DX7BSP.

Thanks a lot!

PD: Apologise for my english mistakes.

It depends on how much your willing to spend. I'd say don't spend no more than £450 for it since the competition between brands is vary stiff now days you can grab one of the newer models for around £550+ if you look around. Bare in mind the new 100HZ lcd models which offer improved motion eg:Less motion blur) and 1:1 pixel mapping on VGA or HDMI since if you decide to plug it into a media centre PC you're want it to display text properly.

Thanks madflex!
I think I will forget bargains and old models and go for the Panasonic LXD700, which seems to be very appreciated in the forum.

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

I bought my LT-32DX7BJ in June 06 after reading enthusiastic reports earlier in this thread and have been greatly impressed by its performance. I had no HD sources until a recent purchace of a PS3 so the HDMI ports were unused. I find that both the ports are dead and am using the PS3 via component. In the HDMI settings screen only the audio settings are available. I have borrowed other HDMI equiptment but no different. Does anyone know if this is a fault or a software/configuration issue? I have warranty until June 09 but am not sure if this will be covered. Many thanks in advance.

The HDMI ports may be disabled. This can happen if the set has detected what it thinks is a hack attempt or if the back of the set has been removed at any point. A dealer with a JVC Service Remote Control can reset them.

Re: The JVC LT-26DX7 and LT-32DX7 thread

GaryB thank you very much for your advice on that. The set has certainly been untouched since I bought it, supposedly new fom the TV dept of a major department store - I had returned an unrepairable Philips 9616 and paid the difference. I wonder if this is an ex-diplay or returned set? The store no longer has the same department so I suppose the answer will be to find a JVC specialist. I doubt if the extended warranty will cover it.
