Samsung LE26R41BD - worth buying component leads over RGB scart ?

Just bought one of these for my son's bedroom

Played around with the picture settings as per comments in this forum.

Getting reasonable Freeview Picture and quite good DVD (but nothing like as good as the picture on the 36 inch Tosh CRT that I have downstairs)

The DVD is connected via RGB Scart lead. Is it worth trying component leads. The 36 inch Tosh is connected via component (prog scan) but I think I would have problems telling by just looking at the picture between the component prog scan and RGB scart. Although I can tell immediately the difference between RGB and composite.

I don't think the leads on the Tosh will fit the Samsung, - is it worth buying some ? Can you notice the difference ?

Yes. SCART is an outdated connector and can only carry Interlaced, Standard Definition video.

A Progressive Scan DVD Player with Component output will give far better picture. The difference isn't quite the difference between Composite and RGB - the difference is one of overall clarity instead of picture interference.

The difference between conponent and rgb scart is not that great. I run both into my LE32R41B and from 2yards away there is no noticeable difference. My wife prefers Scart because of the auto-switching. I prefer Component because I know it's better - even though I cannot notice any difference unless I am very close (too close).

I connected the HD850 to the LE32R41BD using HDMI and it looked worse than my old DVD player connected to my old CRT TV using scart RGB. I haven't connected the player to the Samsung with RGB to really compare yet.
