Hi,
How do you view the camera from a phone?
Is this via a webpage or app (iOs or android?)

Many thanks

Just ordered a Samsung E551 sound bar and a Panasonic 320 blu ray player to go with the new 55ES8000.

Hope it all works well together.

As to the chances of an improved replacement set then it is clearly a risk. I got lucky with my second set which I am keeping until OLED are cheaper. Some people have changed four or more which takes time but is worthit if you want your proper monies worth.
The only time I've been bothered with a stuck pixel was when I had a portable archos player :P Though I guess for the money spent, expecting a tv with perfect pixels isn't too much to ask.

Watched a couple of films as it got dark tonight and can settle for the picture apart from the painfully obvious light bleed cutting across the black border and picture from the top right hand corner of the screen. I saw that someone figured out how to fix problems with the screen by unscrewing the back panel and slightly loosening certain screws. This give them a perfect and uniformed screen. Not something I'm willing to try at the moment.

Likely to be phoning John Lewis tomorrow and see if I can get a replacement. It's a bit of hassle, though it should be worth it in the long run. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I tried that earlier on. First of via the YouTube app on the tv, then I figured I could put the video on loop if I downloaded it to my computer and streamed over my network. I think it was on for over an hour. Could try it again tomorrow.

Using skype todo a video call, the mrs worked it, she knows her fidlly tech

So had a few hours gaming, 1080p/60hz checkerboard 3d on a active is a much cleaner/sharper image than my beloved passive's.
Seeing as how i have 3dvision working then this tv is floating my boat, i found blur due to pixel response time is more than acceptable, especially compared to a lg 760t, input lag is allso ok with a pc labeled input.

3d films are a pleasure to watch allso , interpolation is nce and smooth, sure there's the usual artifacts but i find them tobe suppressed quite good, i'm happy enough considering i've allways slated lcd active, smasung have come along way since that c750.

Crosstalk performance is actually pretty good, not the best but i seen nothing last night gaming that would hurt my viewing pleasure, i'll just have to deal with teh small amount of xtalk here and there, i miss my ld920 allready, 3d xtalk monster muncher it was

I've seen better colour's, for a premium tv the colours suck alittle, but then that does'nt really affect me, as long as i have 3dvision at 1080p/60+60fps i'm over the moon, checkerboard rules the roost over interleaved.

The glasses are'nt too bad, i need to raise my tv up as i find the glases/my head needs to be straight at the tv instead of my usual head leaning slightly forwards for the 3d performance to work best, tilting head slightly up or down introduces xtalk, there is a very small windows to hit that pefect spot, i found wearing my glasses over my eardrums made the glasses angle up slightly which combatted my forward tilting head, neck posture and lifted my head up, looks like it's all about neck posture for me
There is alot more xtalk than passive but oh well, i'm happy enough, and if i was'nt happy i'd know, but then all i care about is getting that magic 1080p/60hz with 3dvision and having a good enough gaming image with no obvious flaws that are seen every minute.

I remember when I got my self apparantly this great HDMI cable and I paid £69.99 for it and used it up against my old £4.99 and there was no difference whatsoever.

Expensive HDMI cables are the biggest waste of money IMO.

Yeah I use Amazon Basics High Speed for all my AV and PCs. They are under a tenner dependent upon length. Given that I am only sending a digital signal less than two metres they more than suffice. If I was sending a signal 20 metres or more then i'd give the cable a bit more thought.

I watched the 3D version of Clash of the Titans and the Xtalk was so bad that I never bothered again for months. Though recently I watched the Wimbledon final in 3D and a couple of other BDs and there was no problem, so perhaps the earlier experience was due to the poor version. The bigger problem for me was clouding given that the 3D settings turn the backlight right up and also switch on more of the processing options. Since I watch so little 3D I have never bothered investigating the settings. Would never even bother with the 2D to 3D conversion. Last year my Samsung plasma was useless at that.

I was playing Assassins creed revelations yesterday in 3D, it looked ok but even though it was playing in 720p according to the tv when I pressed the info button there is a huge difference when going to 2D 1080p.

Wow. Imagine streaming that video content via LoveFilm over a 3Mb/s connection :P

Just got Disney WOW disc.
Ran the pixel flipper for 3 hours, and even before I started to look at the calibration segments, I immediatley noticed a massive improvement in the clouding.
So thanks to Arenaman for planting that idea in my head to try that :-)
Still got a way to go on the calibration side, only done the basic settings section so far, advanced and expert to go! Haha

It's on amazon as an import. You can download the manual from Disney to see what it covers.

It's a calibration disc with a 'pixel flipper' section which I guess is the same as the YouTube videos previously posted. No idea if it fixes clouding. Says new from £13 on amazon. Presume there will be a uk release at some point.

Can someone please post up a picture of the back of the tv for the connections dvi audio in, ext (rgb) and headset mine looks like its missing connectors got 2 holes that look the same and well it doesnt look right :-(

Edit: Found an image here: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsu...1205301790.htm

Mines looks the same so I guess normal? :-/ well lets plug it in and see how this replacement is, strange thing is the scellotape on the box was very very old and box was a bit dusty and tatty as if it was from an extremely old batch however the glasses are the latest 4100 series so very odd.

ya, i settled on standerd setting as seems more vivid then movie settings without having to increase backlight, during day its amazing the blacks etc, at night in pitch black room blacks are grey but thats the draw back with lcd i guess, also abit of touching on right bottom hand corner when viewing movie with borders in pitch black room , during the day the blacks look great and colours are really good

Thanks. Hopefully I will not be bothered with the grey blacks as I never watch a film in pitch black, always have low lighting on.

Two issues/questions

As my settings might be wrong somewhere i would like to ask you the following:
1. Did anybody experience some sort of flickering while watching moving scenes e.g. soccer games - and it is visible only where more detail is present - the stands and the fans. When the camera stops moving the flickering stops. Maybe there is a different term instead of flickering. HD Sat Receiver is connected through AVR.
As this happens also with my camera recordings (60p/60i) especially when there is greenery and a lot of sun/brightness, I was suspecting that it has something to do with the refresh rate.
I play my camera recordings via PS3 and through the AVR.
I experimented with the judder and blur settings but in both cases if I stop the flickering I lose detail or something else in the other hand.

2. What do you use in order to adjust R/G/B - the white balance menu or the 10p menu.
Could you please tell me the difference.

Thanks in advance
MG

I find using the Eco sensor works a treat.bright during the day and when sitting in the pitch black room the screen brightness adjusts perfectly.
Mine is set to bottom out at 4
