Round up of some useful functions,

Save channels on usb memory stick:
1- insert usb memory (format FAT 32) in usb port 1
2- keep ENTER button pressed untill setup menu ends and the info bar shows at top of page, then press "1" "1" "0" "5" "OK"
3- choose "TV-LINK LOADER" and either "Recieve from USB" or "Send to USB"

Downgrade Firmware:
1- Download "GP3_EU_BB_[Special_ChangeOldKey]_C0_RevNo59622_V09.00.00_ota_V2_SECURED.epk" firmware
2- Place it in an LG_DTV file on the usb stick (FAT32) and stick it in lg usb port 1
3- When the TV recognizes the FW, press ok to flash and let the TV finish the flash completely and restart
4- Download a favourite previous firmware and place it in the LG_DTV file on the usb stick and insert in usb port 1.
5- It'll tell you the fw 9.00 is newer. Highlight option in menu and press favourite key 7x times and a new menu appears asking whether you want to update to fw on usb stick....choose which firmware if you have more than one on the usb memory....

Downgrade Firmware ALternative:
1- put firmware "GP3_DVB_EU_BB_MP_2Q_C0_RevNo56681_V04.04.11_usb_V 2_SECURED.epk" (same link as above) in an LG_DTV file on the usb stick (FAT32) and stick it in lg usb port 1.
2- When the TV recognizes the FW, press ok to flash and let the TV finish the flash completely and restart
3- YOu can now flash newer firmwares, start with 05.01.10...

LG CINEMA 3D – telewizor LG LW570S - wszystko o serii LW 570S - Strona 185 - HDforum

GP3_EU_BB_[Special_ChangeOldKey]_C0_RevNo59622_V09.00.00_ota_V2_SECURED.epk

The firmware above will re enable the service menu options. It worked for my LK950s. It will also allow a forced firmware upgrade via the previous method. Highlight Option in the menu and press Fav 7 times. If you do force a firmware update you must make sure the firmware is compatible with your tv model.

In simpler terms,

1- Download the said "GP3_EU_BB_[Special_ChangeOldKey]_C0_RevNo59622_V09.00.00_ota_V2_SECURED.epk" firmware
2- Place it in an LG_DTV file on the usb stick (FAT32) and stick it in lg usb port 1
3- When the TV recognizes the FW, press ok to flash and let the TV finish the flash completely and restart
4- Download a favourite previous firmware (05.07.10 or 05.08.05 ?), place it in the LG_DTV file on the usb stick and flash it as above
5- Enjoy...

Who's going to be the first to try it....?
Will the language be Russian by default after flashing?

No, I've tried and of course it didn't fool the TV....

The only way seems to be the above, there is a long thread in russian on the downgrade and I'm sure there's lots of info there but no one here has tried the downgrade yet...

Thankyou roki199
I confirm it works....

GP3_EU_BB_[Special_ChangeOldKey]_C0_RevNo59622_V09.00.00_ota_V2_SECURED.epk
is the magic downgrade to firmware 9.00

Once you've downgraded to 9.00 you can install any older firmware you want.
Now I need the good firmware from last winter which supposedly had the best iplayer and youtube compatibility...

EDIT: FIXED
After flashing 9.00 put the firmware of choice in the LG_DTV file and insert into usb port 1.
It'll tell you the fw 9.00 is newer.
Highlight option in menu and press favourite key 7x times and a new menu appears asking whether you want to update to fw on usb stick....presto
Now I've got fw 05.01.10

Thanks to the guys in the Polish forum for this fix...

use the links provided at the site, from here, downgrade to 4.x and first version you get asked to update to is 5.1.10 and you can take it one by i guess.

Hi all. I'm looking for some advice/guidance. I picked up a 47inch 550T just before Christmas with the Sky offer. I've been really pleased with it. However, over the last two months I've witnessed a deterioration in the picture. It started with banding, especially with football. Then a judder developed when bright pictures with the camera panning around. This has got so bad that on screen channel idents will flicker and move all over the top corner. Ramsey's Prison cooking is unwatchable with its bright white kitchen. To add to it all, the top right corner is becoming noticeably lighter than the rest of the screen.

How do I best go about resolving this seven months after purchase, is this a retailer issue or best directed to LG?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Phone LG service and explain the problem, they are very good.
Theyll send a repairman to your house.
I recently had my screen replaced by LG on my kitchen table..

I'm currently trying to decide between this tv and the 42lm615t.

I'm not sure if I'll use Smart TV so important things would be:

-3d and 2d quality
-input lag

Thanks in advance!

You can only record from DVB-T freeview or DVB-C cable. And you can only playback on the TV you recorded it, not other LW550Ts or any other means such as pcs...

I just bought this tv yesterday. Now I have a huge problem.

I connected my PS3 pressed power button until the second beep so it does video reset.
It gives me the usual HDMI device was detected do you want to use it?
When I press yes screen flashes after that no signal. Well I do a second reset and select no.
Then I go to PS3s display settings and find out that whenever I choose 1080p the signal disappears. 1080i works fine I get 1080p on two other LG TVs with the same cable so that is not the prob.
I updated the tv to 05.12.05 before I tested the PS3 could the firmware give the issues?

EDIT: I found that after you select that you want to use the hdmi device you need to chance input to anything else than your PS3 then change back. It will work that way. However I still need to do this every single time I launch a game because I can't get signal before I do the input switch.

i can confirm the same issue seen here, currently on 4.1.10, so i guess it on all editions of the firmwares available.

we had issues with the ps3 and the tv took a few days to work it out and now no issues. we are now using a 1.3 hdmi cable plugged into hdmi1 set to console and all works, soon as the ps3 is turned on the tv changes to hdmi 1 and game mode, also simple link works too, none of that works before using hdmi 2 3 or 4 and we ditched the 1.4a cable what cost 70 quid and use cheapo 1.3.

He ditched it, probably took it back.
The only hdmi cables I've ever bought cost me €2.99 in the sales and I've never had any problems with them.
