the best way ive found is too connect all the equipment xbox ps3 , sky hd straight from the sources optical then straight into the amp, that way you can still have sound through the tv as normal , or you get all speakers +tv speakers all synced together when in simplink HT speaker mode is enabled on the tv

Hello, so, this is my first "problem" with this tv and I'd be grateful if anyone with a similar set up could see what they find:

PS3 playing blu-ray Return of the Jedi; Really, really poor picture. It's HD, but the image has no cinema or film feel to it at all, it looks like behind the scenes footage shot on an HD camcorder. Everything about the picture looks amateur. I tried different display settings (game, standard, cinema) changed settings here there and everywhere but nothing I did made these films look like films.

I watched Deathly Hallows pt2 the previous day and that looked absolutely fine (in 3D too) and other blu-rays look great too.

I tried Empire, but the same thing; yet these same blu-rays looked great on my old Toshiba LCD. I don't understand why these films look so poor, frankly I couldn't watch them and I'm usually pretty forgiving. Can anyone replicate this or offer an explanation? help!! I'll never watch them again if I can't sort them out

Have you tried setting tru-motion to User dejudder 2. see if this helps.

No, it's not that, it's the quality of the picture. It's like someone has wiped away all the cinema "feel" of the picture, leaving one that looks like footage you'd see in a "making of" doc.

Is anyone able to try Jedi or Empire of their set?

That's what trumotion does, can make everything look like it's filmed on a camcorder or in a studio. Turn trumotion off and try it.

@ LG. If anyone from LG is watching this forum, perhaps you can advise:

I've been looking to buy the 65" version of this set but for weeks there has been no stock available and no one seems to be able to say when stock is due to arrive. Even Amazon have now changed from 'temporarily' out of stock.

Is there a problem with this model? I've been caught before in the 'early adopter' trap with other products where if some of the problems listed above manifest themselves it is impossible to get a replacement after paying a lot of money for the set. It's a bit worrying and is certainly putting me off a purchase.

Could you tell me what is happening please? Many thanks in anticipation.

note to self; stop fiddling with the settings

I don't know what I did but whatever it was I seem to have changed it back without realising; I'm watching Jedi right now and it looks stunning (trumotion off, so it might have been that I don't know)

So, my only moan about this set has gone, phew!

You rebel scum!

Trumotion (and all the 100/200/400Hz settings by other TV manufacturers) generally makes the picture worse. Overly smooth and the camcorder effect are the most common complaints. I'm not really familiar with the more detailed Trumotion settings, some of them make it worse than others, but turning it off is the easiest solution.

Hi new to the forums been reading this thread for while and just bought the 42 inch version loving the set with none of the problems been posted on this thread which is great few questions I have which people could help me with first I have all my equipment running into a onkyo amp and when I am playing xbox or ps3 I have the settings turned to game as any processing causes screen tearing and all others I have to switch to cinema settings is there any way of making so I don't have to keep switching the settings every time I want to play my xbox or is this the only way and second after playing with my settings for picture settings with some of the settings on this forum I have noticed a setting in cinema called clear plus in the trumotion settings and when you change it is not available to select anymore without resetting the settings just wondered what it is as follows it doesn't seem as strong as the other settings cheers

Sounds like an ideal time post some settings...

I use Game for everything and funnily enough have a PS3 and an Onkyo amp!

Game:

backlight 70
contrast 80
brightness 50
sharpness 23
colour 50
tint 0
colour temp C5

advanced:
all off bar, super resolution and gamma (medium)

picture option

black level low
eye care low

aspect = original

I bought the 47" version of this TV and have been very impressed so far, it's definitely a step up from the old 26" HD ready set we were using
The last day I've had a bit of a strange issue though. Currently have the TV set up so that I can stream directly from my NAS but the TV is unable to find any of the content recently added. Content is definitely on the NAS as I can view it from my laptop.
Anybody experienced anything similar or able to shed any light on it?

I don't use anything different, though I've thought about setting some up, the only thing I would do is up the brightness, but to be honest watching 3D with these settings is fine

Seems you changed your setting from an earlier post.

You find these improved over the previous one?

I kept fiddling but now I've stopped and this is how they are. I don't know whether these sorts to tv's have a "wear in" period, but I'm happy with these, but it's all down to personal preference and how your room is set up and lit, etc. There's not much in it though with my previous settings.

Anyone know if banding/DSE can get worse as the screen is used?

Or is it just my imagination because i'm looking for it... I've had my screen for about 4 weeks now, was first very happy with no problems, now i see DSE/banding more than i used too and it annoys me. But it's past the 21 day return period for Currys

I didn't get round to installing the last one, but I'm up to date with the over the air updates; I wonder why this one is only on the site? and yeah, wouldn't it be great if they told us what these do!

Anyone installed it yet?

Hi guys, could anybody tell me is it safe to update the TVs firmware over a wireless internet connection? As in does it fully download the update before it begins installing it?

Thanks.

Firmware update on the 65"

When browsing the LG support pages I dont see the 65" model listed at all (lg.com) and that me worried that it might not be the same firmware...can someone confirm or deny that its the same firmware for all models, as the 65" 620T seems to be missing...but all other (ever made) models are in the list...

I just thought i'd let everyone know that Qype Deals UK have a great deal on the 32" model of this TV.

For the next few days (6 to be exact) you can purchase a voucher code for the cost of £349.99 which can then be used within the next 3 months to purchase a LG 32LM620T Cinema 3D Full HD Smart TV WITH wall mount from Household Electricals.

I've just taken advantage of this as I was going to get this TV from Amazon anyway but how could i resist a £200 saving!!

Udate after 4 weeks of use 32"

Well, Ive trawled thru ALL the posts to date and can prob answer some folk's queries.
We are really enjoying this new set (32") - it plugs into my BT homehub and has no trouble with the Internet connection - runs all the apps easy. iPlayer is fantastic (has radio unlike my sat box version). The 3D is great - we don't play any games or watch much sport but we have seen a few films (Flying Monsters - the David Attenborough doc - excellent, Tin Tin - a good romp, Conan - 3D film but 2D story), no problems with 3D viewing at all and have used the 2D to 3D once or twice, neat.
If you have a set that does not have WiFi built in then you'll need a wifi dongle- simple as that! I have a wireless mouse connected and this is great- even use it to type, brilliant. The Magic remotes work directly with the advanced sets directly, or lesser sets with a dongle.
Never had any judder, ghosting trails etc
Sound is very good, never gone beyond 50% yet.
Colours were a bit bright (reds!!) but this is very subjective and there are too many parameters to play with, we just turned colour right down until we were happy. I've used the Picture Expert and now keep this setting.
We also watch LoveFilm instant and I was surprised by the quality - we're only getting 6MB on our rather rural and a-long-way-from-exchange Internet but the picture quality rivalled Freeview TV and no buffering, ever.
I would like to be able to swap inputs a bit quicker, i.e. going from TV to Sat - maybe there's a shorcut I'm missing? At the mo, I have to press "inputs" and wait for it to show em all and then move along the row, on to the second screen to find the one I want . . . doh.
Having an LG Blu-ray player is good because you can smart link em - that is, just switching the player on and inserting a disc causes the TV to power up and select the right input.
You can not record to a USB stick - has to be HDD but you can plug in USB sticks and play material on em.
The LG magic app for Android is very good too.
Only other minor niggle is the daft HDMI socket positioning - on the left hand edge, causing all the HDMI leads to stick out - not too much of a fuss for us but if wall mounting??
Happy to answer any other probs.
Steve

doesnt the LM620 automatically increase the brightness when in 3D viewing mode as the LW450 does?
