I am sure I read somewhere that you had to leave the TV on to record to a USB hard drive. But this isn't the case, I've set up several recordings and they have recorded perfectly OK, even thought he TV has been switched off (or to be precise has been left in standby mode i.e switched off from the remote)

Have you been recording content from the built in freeview, or from another source?

Hi Guys,

Having read this thread over the past few days I am still likely to purchase the 42inch version. How are people feeling about this tv now it has been out for a while?

My main concerns are the issues around watching football as I watch quite a lot of it.

I also plan and going into a local shop and seeing in action the best I can before committing to the purchase.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated due to the fact the last time I bought a tv the only thing worth considering was did it switch on and did it have more than 1 HDMI port :D.

Cheers

Football looks great on my 42" mate. I would have no problem whatsoever recommending this tv to friends/family

Had my pricematch back from John Lewis @ £699 so ordered the 47" to come later this week.
It's been a nightmare sorting out which TV to go for, I'd look at the reviews and all would have problems of one thing or another, this 620T although problems cropping up seems to be gemarally ok.
Can't wait for delivery now

Who are offering it for £699? I have asked John Lewis for a price match against Robert Whyte Ltd but their price has just jumped to £805 with delivery.

When I turn the tv into 3d mode every few seconds the screen will jolt a few pixels left or right and I have noticed when I turn the 3d depth to 20 it does it more frequently and is more noticeable

Any ideas to help woul be great!

Thanks

I also have similar problem with my 3d contents on tele. After every few seconds, picture freezes and it adjust the 3d picture and keep playing the file. I tried quite few movies from my 2tb hard drive and result is same. I also have problem with brightness of tv. As my tv show very dark picture and I have tried all setting but nothing works.

Sorry only just seen this.........

Spoke on the phone and asked about whether I need to pricematch against a store that has a 5 year warranty, woman said no as most stores do not offer anything more than a standard 1 year anyway.

Cheers

I got my tv from john Lewis on 3rd on July. They price matched with Roberts Wyeth for £749.00. Do you think they john Lewis will compensate for the drop in price? Credit card do compensate for sudden price drop...

The last day I've had a bit of a strange issue though. Currently have the TV set up so that I can stream directly from my NAS but the TV is unable to find any of the content recently added. Content is definitely on the NAS as I can view it from my laptop.
Anybody experienced anything similar or able to shed any light on it?
I found Plex media server didn't like dots or square brackets in filenames.

Can't wait to get home and get the 55 set up now the DM2780 is for my son's bedroom so that can wait
Also just realised I got a great deal on price for the 55LM620T too I paid £1172.58(€1479) inc delivery....Which is @ €300 cheaper than anywhere else in the ROI for this set
Now to see if its a step up from my dead 550T

Well done fella, might look into this then when the time comes to purchase mine. Was going for the 42 but if the 47 is coming in at that price would be stupid not to.

The 42 inch is down at £595 just now from Electro Centre. Could be a good price match for someone

Hot my 55" this morning. Got it mounted on wall and connected up. As with all new tv's there was a few setup issues with the ARC and hdmi Cec but I've now got it where I'm happy.

First impressions are very good picture quality is very good and in game mode looks very smooth with no judder. There is very slight edge clouding at the edge but that's more to do with the offset position I sit.

Audio is a bit tinny but now the arc is set up its very easy to play through av amp.

3d is stunning with no ghosting or judder.

Smart tv is fantastic and is very responsive.

So far I'm more than happy and cant wait to give it a good movie to play.

Still plenty of features to delve into which will keep me happy for a while.

After playing around for a good five hours today I've got the tv where I'm very happy with it.

One thing I can't get it to do though is send the dts soundtrack from a movie on a hard drive to my amp via the ARC function. Has anyone managed to do this yet? Or am I expecting too much. The audio still sounds great but it's the amp thats converting if to Dolby pro logic 2.

Has anyone had any dealings with currys about their price promise?

I get 10% off currys vouchers through my work. Currys website says that they will price match a store within 30 miles. I can get to a store within 30miles of Birmingham so I should be able to price match Elecrto Centre. To get to a store within 30miles I will have to drive for about an hour and I don't want to have a wasted trip. Electro Centre currently have the TV marked at £725 (was £699 a couple of days ago). The price promise says they'll beat it by 10% of the difference so I should get it for £712.50 in the store so I'll only pay £641 taking into account my 10% company discount.

That is only the case if currys price match is legit. I guess my question is: is it worth the one hour drive?
