I can confirm that there's absolutely no noticable lag when attached to a PS3.

Colours aren't great out of the box, but I found the following helpful...

Viewing mode: Custom
Backlight 7
Contrast 88
Brightness: 50
Color: 50
Hue: 0
Color temperature Warm2
Sharpness 50
Noise reduction Off
Dot noise reduction Off
Reality Creation Off
Smooth gradation Off
Motionflow Clear / Clear Plus
Film mode -Off
Black corrector Off
Adv. Contrast Enhancer Off
Gamma 0
LED Dynamic Control Off
Auto Light Limiter Off
Clear White +1
Live Color +1
Detail Enhancer +1
Edge enhancer Off
R Gain 0
G Gain -6
B Gain -1
R Bias -1
G Bias -3
B Bias -1
Eco On/Off

Note: Some picture profiles are enabled through the System Settings menu – not the Display menu. The Eco option (found in the System menu) is set to On/Off in the table because it depends on your preferences. Eco is the automatic brightness adjuster that adjusts brightness according to the surroundings. It is a practical setting if you watch TV during both daytime and nighttime but if you have a home cinema with controlled lighting, I suggest that you leave it off.

Sound is very good from the included soundbar for general TV, but obviously no replacement for a decent 5.1 surround system. Bass is a lot deeper than that of my 7 year old Panasonic Plasma (TH-42PX60B).

Viewing is impecable full on, but does grey noticably beyond 10-15 degrees. Not a problem for us as we're face on from a distance of 4.5m. The 6 degree tilt isn't intrusive. It may decrease reflections, but I can't comment as there's no light sources opposite our setup.

The SMART features are a nice touch, work well, and the menu is easy to work with, possibly due to it being similar to the PS3 menu. Lovefilm streaming movies are not too far removed from watching blurays, although BT Infinity2 (76mb) helps remove any buffering.

I've not tried 3D yet as I'm waiting until the new titanium 3d glasses (TDG-BR750s) are available. I doubt they'll get much use as I still prefer 2D. 3D distracts me from the movie itself, I find that I'm critiquing the effects rather than enjoying the film.

The only issue I've come across is that I can't figure out how to get to the TV options when the bluray is on. The TV senses that the bluray is on and brings up the bluray player options menu instead. This means that I'm unable to attempt a calibration of my own using an AVS HD 709 disc. If anyone knows how to overide the bluray controls and get back to TV I'd really appreciate it if you would let me know.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the TV. I guess it won't be everyones cup of tea, but it is a cracking bit of kit. The bluray player is superb too and knocks the picture from blurays on the PS3 into a cocked hat.
Hi I also have 55HX843plus Sony S770
You can use options by pressing Sync control from remote this allows you to chose which device is being used

Because I HAVE an 853, which appears to be faulty and am deciding just what to do next.

Actually on rethink, you have a valid point, so I shall start another thread later

I don't think that is correct.

The avf reviews of both doesn't back that up. Very little difference between the two iirc

Hmmm, TBH mate, I don't think I am being rude but maybe even with your smiley face you come across as a bit, well.... rude yourself. I actually have an 853 in my lounge and am discussing it in here, along with comparisons to other TVs and also the faults I have with the 853 which I sincerely hope does not befall new or prospective owners.

I included myself in that as it was me and you who were talking about the Panny. I meant that maybe we should discuss the Panny in another thread.

I don't know Mark, I have just read the HD Guru thread and seen what they are saying in HD Junkies.

I have given up on LEDs completely, I wish they would get rid of the edge lighting.

Nothing on hdj to suggest it is a great TV.

HD guru initial look at the wt seemed to suggest it was the second coming but there were some technical inaccuracies in that report anyway which made me think they were talking rubbish on this occasion.

Every review I have seen has unfortunately put in the pretty good category.....for a led.

In the HDTV 2012 shoot out it basically came last of the high end models being tested.

Shame as I was hoping Panasonic may have brought something new to the table but I guess that would have been counter productive to their plasma range

It was a thread in HDJunkies that pointed to this review....

Panasonic 2012 TC-L55WT50 LED LCD HDTV- First Review | HD Guru

I don't know anymore than that and what was said on the thread, which was not a lot.
Someone who posts on there said that you can't compare the DT with the WT as the only thing the same is the panel, the way it is driven is completely different??
