Have you noticed this lighter effect that I mentioned on the adverts? Bit strange that but not really an issue

Does anyone else on here using an AVR with their ES suffer from AV sync issues?
I have an Onkyo 609 which was setup with my old 37' Toshiba without any sync issues but the moment I plugged in my ES7000 I am getting a delay of anywhere between 60ms and 150ms depending on channel.
I would have posted this on the 609 forum but like I said, it was fine on my old TV using the same equipment, cables etc.
Might just be a case of trying to find a happy medium, but it can get quite irritating.

Any help or advice appreciated.

I have an onkyo 609 plugge into my Es8000 and no sync issues here. There is an option in onkyo menu for av sync where you can adjust it. Mines set to 0ms as I suffer no delay.

For those with ARC issues, my ES turns ON my amp and turns it OFF no bother? Turns it off instantly and turns it on after 5-10s so you get the tv speakers on for that period but then it switches to amp speakers. Annoying but from what your saying I'm lucky for it to even turn on!!!

Thanks MRn00b,

Both the 609 and Sky+HD box have the AV sync delay options but it's made awkward by the fact the same level of delay is not present across all channels. ;o(

6 weeks in and on my second set and still the motion in fast sport problem is there. Watching football on pans, the players are out of focus and occasionally stutters. Does anybody else have this problem?

My 300 quid LG LED on my desk does football better. At least clouding and bleed is not so bad on this set as the first one.

Hi mate, make sure movie mode is set to off and try with motions plus set to off.

From reading, movie mode try's to run everything at 24fps, which causes issues with football.

The reason we still have no iplayer is that samsung's new chipset needs to be certified to Iplayer version 2 and this can only be tested in the uk and not in Korea so has caused a delay, they have escalated the problem so shouldn't be too long.

Really good deal, TV, extra 2 sets of 4100s (4 in total), free 5yr gurantee, free Samsung 3D blu-ray player (was planning to use ps3) but I opened it up and pleasantly surprised, I guess sound will be true HD and not PCM as the PS3 would be (all going thru Onkyo 609) and all Anynet+ compatible so can control everything thru one remote. Also decided to use it as I can set the avr for movie mode on that input and game mode for Ps3 (so keeping them separate)

TV is superb, any torch lighting eliminated with some settings change, and no clouding or bleed now which is great, defo a keeper for my 1st set. Has anyone noticed the set lottery has died down now, maybe Samsung have spent more time on QC on these next batches (just a thought)

Liking the Samsung iPhone app, works well and the ARC link to amp works flawlessly with FreesatHD. So much so turning on TV, turns amp on and transfers the sound to the amp within 10s (would like that to be instant) but Nevermind

My smart hub works, tv on dhcp, recommend using iPhone app to web browse as the keyboard comes up on the phone.

My only niggle, my PS3 is quite laggy on input and seems slow when playing fps games. Also when spinnin around in the game, the screen goes haywire and not natural). How do I change mode to game? Just cannot find that setting or the setting to fit a picture to the screen easily

Press:
Menu
System
General, then game mode is the first option in that menu screen

Ok, as for richer sounds customer services, it's not looking to good. Rang customer services to report a fault and basically ask for a replacement and all I was told was someone would call me back. More than 48 hours later I'm still waiting.
What are my rights when it comes to replacements? I've had the TV less than 2 weeks. Is that a instant replacement or will it be repaired? And they still haven't sent me my 2 free 3d glasses yet. Starting to think I should have gone to JL instead.

I have no sync issues but the ARC will not work with my Yamaha YRS-1100, it switches it off but not on. Samsung say it is a known issue with their implementation of ARC.

Hey bud, I got mine from Richer Sounds this week (wanted to wait for JL) but too much delay and I got free bluray player and 2extra sets of glasses (but like you I'm still waiting for them to get these in stock), when did you order yours? I know there's a risk with RS knowing a bit too much about the tech where JL just care about how you perceive them and will change a tv without a hesitation. Also I know JL woulda price matched RS but also that RS change their offers very often, free bluray player is already removed so chances of JL honouring that is low. Hope they get back to u, let us know.

Well I've been using standard mode for a while with motion plus set to clear. I've switched it off and we will see how we get on this afternoon with City and QPR. LED motion plus is off too. From earlier in the thread I believe this motion issue was around on last years model as well.

One good thing is that the TVs scaler creates a better DVD pic than using my player To upscale to 1080p. That's welcomed.

Well, based on the first half of the City game switching the motion plus to off has helped. The stuttering is less, though still apparent to an extent. As it goes I now have none of the Samsung extra processing switched on whether it be to do with contrast, motion or whatever. I've read elsewhere that keeping all the supposed candy off pays dividends in terms of a better picture. Shouldn't be that way really.

I too have mine on Standard and noticed watching football that when a long cross/pass is made the ball judders and blurs. Tried all the differernt motion settings and all the same really. My other B551 is far superior!

Hey dude, I bought it on the 28th of last month. Had the problem after 9 days, I'm hoping they will just call me back and just offer a replacement. I didn't get a bluray player though ! and still no second pair of glasses. Starting to think I should have gone to JL. I only got the 8000 as they didn't have the 6800 I went for and were out of 7000's as well!

always good to save a few quid but with this set I think most important is getting it from a supplier who will jump to it when/if you need to swap

Costco has one of the best returns policies out there imo.

I remember buying a TV from them before which packed up after 3 years. They no longer stocked the TV so offered to refund the full amount paid straight away!

Ok so my third TV turned up today from JL.

I opened the box and found some items loose with a tested sticker on! looks like a return!

Anyway powered it up, terrible light bleed in the bottom right corner. and a massive cloudy patch in the top right, its zoo blurry I had to check my eye site wasn't bad.

I have just about given up now

My 55" UE8000 arrives from John Lewis on Tuesday. Is there a particular test disc or any other reliable method of checking for light bleed and clouding issues which many AV members have reported. Are these issues only noticeable if the back light is high or does this make no difference?

mine has light bleed on bottom rhs it also had clouding which i guess roughly about 100hrs viewing in cleared

the light bleed I'm starting to live with - its only noticeable to me it would seem!!

any chance you could post some pics?

Also i would question bigtime on the tested sticker
