Seems like the official LG spec sheets are available, http://new.edinw.com/CUST_Portal/res...ey=819&pType=C

Also have some reviews: LG LCD TV and LED TV Buying Guide: LG TV Reviews, Models, Best Prices

Also this page gives a good overview (first place I saw that the 8600's dual-core adds the ability to switch between apps and live tv): CES 2012 LG’s HDTV Line | HD Guru

BTW LG, your spec sheet for the 8600 has energy star in the cabinet/accessories section instead of the power section. Also, the spec sheet has the 7600 .2" higher than the 6700 and the 8600.

I thought the 9600's bezel was actually larger than the other 3 cinema screen tvs, but it looks like the spec dimensions are actually smaller...

Good find and very interesting read
Weird that you got them before the offical LG marketing guy did, dave why do you not have access to these PDFs?

At least now we have many questions answered. Including the first negative mentioned in the 690v review $3200 is too expensive for that tv when compared to other brands.

A uk conversion will likely be just as ludicrous, so we've made our mind up.
Were off to buy a new tv at the weekend I'm not waiting for 2 months to be greated with tht kind of a price from LG bearing in mind they are the budget manufacture in comparison to the big hitters (Sony/Samsung/pioneer/Phillips etc etc) yet they are bizarrely charging more for their tvs all of a sudden.

In 2012 the market is expected to slump, good idea to release an overpriced tv then?

The review also stated the screen was not correctly aligned with the edge bezel, had blur and judder, had smearing and was not pin sharp, really LG that sounds very Reminisnt of the 2011 models that were so widely and universally declared as faulty.

I don't think I'm gonna risk it this year... Off to the shops for a poke around for me

I'm a huge fan of LG, they are not a budget line, I'd almost call them a boutique line (ala Pioneer of yesteryear... yeah, I just said that ). The cinema screen is truly amazing (no one's bezel designs this year come anywhere close), and their software is second to none (very excited about the magic remote, and I challenge you to find another set that streams mkv out of the box, LG was years ahead of the game in that, I still have their BD390 humming along with my Kuro)
Eh? Is this a satiricle post, have I missed the humour?

First, I quoted the negatives quoted in the article you posted? They stated those negatives not me! So go moan at yourself for pointing us to a review that says negative things about LG sets.

Second, I'm a fan of LG, currently watching a LG now in my house, have 2 more in other rooms, just returned 3 sets though due to faults. Plus I have a LG washing machine... So im not a hater?

Most sets (Samsung included play mkv out the box) mkv is a container not a video codec, if the files are encoded in a supported format and wrapped into a mkv container most tvs will play them these days, it's dependent on their codec support more than anything. My Samsung 32" in the kitchen plays mkvs fine.

If you think your LG plays all mkvs then shame on you! Try a DTS encoded audio file/movie wrapped in an mkv container. They won't play as LG won't pay for DTS licences. So please unless I've mistaken your post as serious instead of some kind of missed humour on my behalf, please understand the technology prior to calling me out.

And finally, what are you talking about bezels? First, I never even mentioned bezels? Second, LG copied Samsung, they even said on the CES Video that they noticed the market and consumers were buying bezel less tvs so jumped on board. Every tv at CES this year was pretty much bezel free. Did you, even look at the other announcements?

Now, unless I'm seriously missing your humour here, your really have missed almost every point in your post by a country mile.

Ohh, and as for prices, they are more expensive, and the review you pointed us to states "negatives... To expensive"

You posted that link not me!

we're still finalising the models that our UK retailers are stocking and should have an overall spec sheet that covers every model in a single excel file on our website soon.

Is it true all the 2012 Plasmas are going to have a matt screen? How is that even possible, being that Plasmas are glass displays?

Must admit I prefer the glossy look, especially as I like to watch films/play games in the dark, reflections aren't an issue for me.

That's true. LG's support for different codecs isn't great. You cannot play many files that play ok in other tvs and other devices. In my opinion, lack of DTS support (even passhtru) just isn't accectable for a media player produced in 2011 or 2012. One cannot even select audio language or subtitle when playing MKV files.

The difference between on and off is when the TV is off it *looks* like it has a very small bezel, but when it's on it's not actually quite as thin.

So disappointed the lm9600 video doesnt show the image from a short distance, so hard to compare the bezel to the 6700/7600/8600. And this video just made me more confused: Frank Talks - LG borderless TV Design w Patrick Shim, LG Design Lab - YouTube

Guess I'll have to wait for the big reveal when I can see it in the store.
Haha that second video.. What is he on about??

I appreciate that you can't provide full spec details and prices yet, but are you able to provide the dimensions for the 42" LM6700 and the 37" LM6200. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I can't get the PDF for the 42" LM6200 to open and the other specs are 47" or higher which is too big for my room.

Meyerovb, thanks for the link. The LM6200 appears to be smaller than the current range. Just have to fnd the 42LM6700 for a size comparison.

I've actually ordered a Samsing UE55D7000 as 2D picture quality is more important to me than passive 3D. But maybe these new LGs will have an excellent 2D picture? I'm tempted to cancel the Samsung but can't decide!

I'd wait mate, these led lgs while offering brilliant passive 3d but they really have a QC issue regarding the tech. I don't care how good the review models are, the ones the public get are inferior. Iv not read one professional review of the lw650 that mention banding.

Yet every model iv seen in there led range from the 450 right upto the 980 have all had banding. It's just the way there tech is. Iv read some people saying there sets doesn't have it, my brother says the same.. Haven't got the hart to tell him otherwise after watch some footie the other day on it:-/.

Atleast my last replacement is now watchable, but it's still there. Anyhow I look forword to seeing the new range in action, because if they fix the banding issues they really will have an unbeatable tv, sadly I'm not hold my breath.

Hmm as far as I know, the actual panels on these TVs are the same as the 2011 models. The only differences are the snazzy bezel, smart TV stuff and a few little tweaks? If thats the case I'll go with Samsung as the quality of their screens are fantastic. I think I can live with active 3D in order to have stunning 2D pictures... Still I'm umming and ahhing about this a lot!

I see the 55" 980 is down to £2298 at John Lewis now, this is going to make things interesting when the 2012 model prices come out,

I wonder how much more the 2011 models will go down?

Thanks is there a particular reason why the 42LM640T is missing from your price list?
