Just installed the new FW thats supposed to cure the black line issue - will let you all know over the next few days.

If this cures this issue then I will be super happy with this TV - love the picture quality and the 3D is great so here's hoping

hi, no problem re your english understand you fine.

this FW upgrade is being sent out by tosh on a USB stick and isn't on line as yet - guessing we are all test subjects to see if it works first!

I'm not 100% on that, I certainly didn't intend to change channel on the pvr, but I do use a cheapo harmony all in one remote for this telly, so it possible. I'll see how the men's final looks tomorrow

ok, first 6 hours of viewing and there have been some stutters/juddering from sky HD (looks like part or whole of the screen does a double take) but they have been replicated one playback so I think they were satellite issues. HOWEVER, I watched the women's doubles finals live on HD and there were two black line incidents that were not replicated on the playback - so I think its still there

Need to view some more, but initial impression from tonight is that its better, but still there

I received a firmware update from Toshiba for the black line issue and now the wifi isn't working. To be more precise the router is found, the password is accepted but after I hit OK and it takes me back to the wifi setup all the settings are lost. I've tried re-installing the firmware, pulling out the dongle etc. but to no avail. Any advice or has anyone seen anything similar. Before the firmware update the wifi was working faultlessly.

Actually toshiba places is a web site you can access it at https://cp-portal.toshibaplaces.com/...tv/cindex.html

These files are the changes between last and previous firmware

I'll post later scripts to decompile the .bin file if anyone is interested in firmware file system.

Yup Toshiba messed up the previous firmware. Apparently it greys out all the online stuff too hence my wifi problem. What a mare.

I use UeroTek Universal 3D Active Glasses Works With Toshiba, Samsung, Sony Sharp, Mitsubishi, Panasonic purchased from Amazon. I think the Toshiba's are IR and not Bluetooth so not all Active Glasses will work. The UeroTek glasses seem to work well enough but I cannot say if the real Toshiba ones would be better.

I just rang Toshiba to ask about this and was told that there is NOT an further Firmware release - can I please confirm, the latest I have is 6.4.Q1.1 - is that what everyone else now has?

I'm still getting the odd black line since upgrading to this FW but (even more worryingly) I'm also getting some very bizarre picture judders (just random parts of the picture that can be vertical or horizontal). I thought it was just via Sky on my HD input but just got the same watching a blu ray of Aliens tonight and when I rewound the scene and played back the same section again, it was fine.

Not happy, in some ways I think its worse

I got the 2nd new firmware USB today with 6.4.Z4.1 June 7 2012 on, and it seems to be working fine so far, I think it is the same one Jonno got earlier in the thread.

Dont know what the hell Toshiba are playing at really, the guy I spoke to two days ago swore blind that the FW I had (6.4.Q1.1) was the latest and has now arranged an engineer to come out to fix it!!! A lot of good thats going to do - another phone call coming up then - sigh!

Any chance of posting the 6.4.Z4.1 upgrade file here?
Also, does this particular update do any damage to 'online' functionality of the tv (network media, youtube, etc.)
Just dont fancy upgrading and finding that I have lost it (i.e. being greyed out, like someone mentioned a few posts earlier)
Thanks alot

Great, I thought Toshiba were sending me 6.4.Z4.1 June 7 2012. After a little more investigation they've sent me 6.4.Q1.1 again so no wonder it didn't work. Oh well, they are swapping my TL868 out for a TL963, and I'm not spending more time on the phone, but I cannot fault their customer services for trying.

Hi everyone, only just registered for the site and thought I'd make my first post here.

I also own a 40tl868 and other than the odd black line everyone seems to get all was fine until about 10 minutes ago.

It appears I've lost HDMI 1!

I had been playing a 3d game on my PS3 through an Onkyo amp into HDMI 1, turned the PS3 off and switched the amp over to sky. Could hear the sound through the amp fine but no pic other than the TVs own menus and displays, checked all connections and nothing abnormal, fiddled about taking the sky direct to HDMI 1 bypassing the amp with no sound or pictures. Swapped HDMI over to 2 and get all pics, sound etc direct from sky or through amp.

Has anyone else suffered this issue?

Can anyone think of anything I can try to get it back? Will a system reset be likely to do so? If so I best get writing down all my settings!!!

Thanks, James

Ok, just got and installed 6.4.Z4.1 June 7 2012 so will see how it goes, not holding out huge hopes though as it sounds like this release is more to do with fixing the online errors from the last one........
