If that is the 'DEC 5' labelled firmware that has been talked about on here, I've had it for over a month and it makes no difference to the black line problem for me.

Have you tried turning your router off to see if that makes a difference?

Thanks Sparky. I've installed the latest FM and no problems along the way. Like Rick, I noticed that it seemed to improve the standard picture - though it may well have been due to resetting my changes!
Not tried the active on again yet so will give that a go as it was awful before.

Watched 2 episodes of recorded Frozen Planet on HD that I know I had seen the black lines on before and the first episode of LOTR on blu ray and both played without any lines. This was the case before the upgrade though since I disabled the auto 3D option, but I need to watch a lot more to confirm this.

All in all, I'm still very happy with this set for the money

Well, the new firmware certainly seems to reduce SOME of the judder with activevision enabled, but the black line problem is still there, hope it can get solved with a firmware update soon I just hope it isn't a hardware fault or what ever...

If toshiba are watching this thread, why haven't they released a public statement to at least acknowledge those suffering from the dreaded black line issue?

Because they will never admit they have got such a problem with their product.

Hate to say it but got black lines whilst watching the England game last night on Sky HD - seems to only be on HD live TV for me but it is annoying when it happens

So toshiba are watching this thread? What username are they using then we can all message them telling them about the black line issue, is it so hard to make a tv which displays a picture with no black lines? I mean c'mon....

Unfortunately you don't need username just to read AVForum so we will never find out.

Can someone post a link to the latest firmware or PM me the details. Just got this TV today and noticed the firmware is from October. I have looked on their website but it says to upgrade via the TV and guess what....that isn't working.

Thanks in advance.

Just noticed the "blackline" flicker while watching through my TIVO that's connected via a decent HDMI cable.

Just seen the review of the 46" version and it's the same there. It's affecting quite a few of us.....has anyone had anything back from Toshiba about this? BTW have tried all the things mentioned in this fred but still same.

Just hooked up my laptop to my Toshy via another decent HDMI cable and when desktop loads it's not 1080p? My pevious TV was hooked up at 1920 x 1080 and the desktop was perfect! I have NVIDA graphics card and had to go in to NView and physically drag the horizontal and vertical bars so that the desktop fit. The settings are 1852 x 1024....is this TV true 1080p or am im losing my marbles again.

I get the black lines to while viewing through Humax freesat box. This is the second set with same problem. First set also had a LED visible when lighter colours were shown, Multizoneav quickly replaced the set no problem. Loving the 3D though through Sainsonic glasses. Bluray picture quality is great for the price (£419 delivered). Have updated fimware (thanks to Sparky1pq) but still get the black lines. Hope Tosh do something about this.

If we will not start chasing them with emails I'm afraid they will do nothing. They will not even admit there is a problem with TV.

Tried allsorts last night but couldnt sort it. Gonna put on Adventures of TinTin in a bit and see if i can tweak it to stop flicker/judder. Not sure i can keep this TV if this continues. Toshiba need to pull their finger out and get it sorted.

No Updates available

Hi All,
Just got this model on Friday and set it up yesterday. Pleased with the picture and hooked it up to via internet via Ethernet cable to get upgrades as I was unable to get BBC I Player, Acetrax and You Tube kept juddering. Unsuccessful as I keep getting messages that there are no updates available at this time. Checked the forums and it seems there are. Could somebody please PM me with and how do I update. Also when I connected the satellite cable I only get mostly repeated channels (channel 4 mainly), though a very good quality picture.

Sorry to be among the long list of people requesting it but could someone please PM me the latest firmware along with a few instructions as to how to install it. Much appreciated. I'm only really getting a lot of judder so I definitely want to give it a go!

Cannot PM as you don't have enough posts.
