So how do I know it's not an AS-IPS instead? They look kind of the same.
Thanks.

They look very similar to me, so I can not tell the difference from the picture.

P.S. In this site http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...g&client=opera

they explain the difference and form the pictures provided it is easy to distinguish.

I can confirm some of the ES series have got sh*te panels...I had the UE40ES5700 and it couldn't display black, the closest it came to black was dark navy blue... who are Samsung making these TVs for? Colour blind people?

Hi Petas,
Thanks for the photo, but this panel sticker definitely DOES NOT look like an AUO panel sticker, for example:

etc..
Much more like Samsung sticker:

Hi Petas,
Obviously it should be Samsung panel (S-PVA), according to sticker info. If I could find some other or additional info, will post it. Still small option of OEM supply is present.

P.S. According to the service manual, provided by ertdh , it should be CMI panel. All the codes and specs are the same... But the sticker logo "samsung" is confusing... Can't find the panel code in the databases I can access trough Internet. Should be a new one.

Hint: Could You look at the panel trough strong magnifying glass or eyepiece and compare the matrix pixel structure You see with the pictures posted at the beginning of this topic? They are sorted there in separate posts depending on the manufacturer.

Hi hristoslav2,

Do you have any information about the 2012 Sony tv?
I am quite interested about the 40 HX 855.
It seems that should had improved the quality of HX820.
I was wondering if Sony is using the S-LCD from Samsung or a different one.
If this should be the case, could you kindly explain which is the difference between S-LCD and S-PVA?

Thanks a lot for any your information!

Hi Petas,

There are 3 common ways of taking ultra-macro picture of an object:
1. Using universal macro-lens adapter like:
DCR-250 Super Macro conversion lens for D-SLR camera
Raynox High Definition Conversion Lens Accessories for SONY HDR-FX7, HDR-FX7E, HVR-V1J, HVR-V1E, HDR-V1U, HVR-V1N HDV Camcorders

2. Using USB-microscope, (enhanced magnification) for example:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_...oscope&x=0&y=0
Celestron Handheld Digital Microscope: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Veho VMS-004 Discovery Deluxe USB Microscope with x400: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

And 3. (The most complex one) Using secondary object-glass like macro lens, attached to your camera. This method gives the highest magnification, depending on the object-glass parameters. But it requires adapter rings and etc.., as described in this Russian site:
ru_macro:
(use Google translator, if needed).

In cases 1. and 3. use max optical (not digital!) zoom in order to obtain max. magnification ratio.

Me personally, I use method 3. My camera is 35x optical (24-840 mm equiv.) zoom one, with an object-glass as ultra-macro lens.

Success!

Hi hristoslav2,

Thanks as always for your prompt answer.
Do you have any detail about the above letters that define the panel type?
I guess just the numbers as the panel measure.
Any idea about the producer of the panel from these letters?

Cheers

Hi hristoslav2,

Thanks for the information. All this codes and definitions sound to me like Arabic language.
Well, I need to wait for some good reviews to understand better the real characteristics of this panel.
From the first opinions read on the web this TV seems work greatly.
Considering that some months ago you suggested me the NX720 and this should be the development of that TV, I think to be close to the final choice.

Again, thanks so much!
