How should you transport LCD Tv by car?

Is it alright if you pick up a TV that you like at a high street store and transport it in your own car? What is your advice? I suppose I should put the TV in the boot, but is there any cautionary measure?

Ideally upright in its packaging. Laying them flat particularly without packaging can put the screen at risk of damage. So I suppose the issue is how big the screen , how big the car? Otherwise I'd have it delivered in a van.

Mine is a 1.8 Primera Nissan whose size is similar to a Ford Mondeo. And I would like to buy a 37'' or 40'' LCD Tv.

By "upright", do you mean I should place the TV at the passenger back seat?

I transported a 42" in its box 'upright' on the back seat. Strap it in using the seatbelts and it should be OK. You should see the guys in the warehouse handling those things.
