Advise on choosing a laptop for gaming please

Hi
I'm looking at buying a laptop with maximum of £430 for gaming, bit of photoshop usage and browsing Internet.
I like Fps mostly but i know £430 isn't going too get me high end settings on the likes of battlefield 3 but obviously the best I can get for my budget will do.

Im ok with refurbished but i would prefer new and im looking at least a screen that is regular size, ive only had quick look so far and i noticed a similar thread here a month ago with a Acer 5750G
Acer Aspire 5750G LX.RAZ02.136
And now noticed another i3 Acer at same price assuming better ?
Acer Aspire 5755G NX.RV3EK.001

Would one of the above be the best choice for my budget or is there something better refurbished or new about ?

Of the two you have listed I would go for the 5750G as it was a Labs winner in PC Pro mag.
However if you can stretch the budget a bit more -
Toshiba Satellite Pro L850-11V PSKDME-004003EN
This machine has a far better graphics card.

It's a little better graphics wise I think, but not a lot. I think the GT630M is better than the GT540m in the Acer ones you linked so go for the 5755G out of those if you do

Hi LJx,

I've spent bit more time looking and noticed myself that the GT630M does have bit better spec so would be better choice of the Acer models I've not actually bought one yet I was tempted with Toshiba but I've also been looking at some Amd models too even though I usually prefer intel

Ive since found a Amd A6 3420m With the Radeon HD7670m card for £389 which I thought might be ok as for price looks good spec for gaming ?Acer Aspire 5560G Quad Core Windows 7 Laptop in Black NX.RUREK.001 - Laptops Direct

I would definitely go for the intel CPU, it is so much better they are not even close performance wise
