Finally joined AV today after a few years of reading posts. So hello all.
Reading back, I can understand how people who are not familiar with specs etc, can't grasp why this would be better than a HP with same specs at the same price.
The answer lays in the brand.
Just google "faulty laptop brand rate 2011" select the first link and your see a comprehensive chart comes up based on failure rates.
ASUS and Toshiba are right up there wheres as look at HP, back of the pack.
I never go by what I read on just 1 or 2 links, so I hunted lots of threads, Including customer service.
Many threads and articles were slamming HP,ACER and some other brands customers service suport. Where as brands like ASUS and Tosh have far less negative feedback.
So it's not all about matching specs for some people.
Anyhow...
I've been on the hunt for a laptop with the best specs for my nuggets.
After 10 days of some hardcore google use, at £399 this laptop is the best out there.
So Xmas day night, I'm thinking "yeah, nice find, I'll pop down to the store tomorrow and get one"
Then the worst thing ever happened. I was hit with man-flu and been in quarentine until now only to discover it's now at £449!!!!!
In my opinion, I think they messed up. And anyone who got it at £399 has done very well. I think they messed up as, if you go to their site, you can see the same shell laptop at £399 but with 3gb ram (instead of 6gb) and 320gb HDD (instead of 750gb).
And both the higher spec that your all talking about and the lower spec model were both on their site simultaneously up until today. So no logic there, as there would make zero sales on the lower spec. Hence why I feel they accidently put the higher spec at £399 until they spotted their mistake.
Hope i'm wrong though......
Will go to the store tomorrow to speak with their ever so "knowledgeable" staff as i refuse to pay 10p a minute only for them to keep me holding.
If this was not of any interest to you and I sent you to

I don't apologise
