Killzone servers

Does killzone have its own servers for online.Certainly hope so because i just had a game of cod waw and nearly threw my controller through my plasma .I might as well have using a pea shooter.

Indeed it will have, online multiplayer games will be hosted on dedicated Sony/Guerilla Games servers, none of this peer-to-peer stuff as in WaW

This will probably be moved to the preview thread here Killzone 2 - Preview Thread (part 2), worth a read along with part one, if you have the time

The only issue I see with that is eventually somewhere along the line those servers will go down and eventually pulled.

Nothing to worry about for the time being though

That usually happens when the no one is playing the game. There are still thousands of servers that run CS 1.6 or even the old Quakes on PC.

Server rental is pretty cheap these days. I just hope they allow people to host clan servers and the like. That will be a big step forward for console games and FPS.

Always annoys me on Xbox Live with WaW that it is hosted peer-peer, you'd think paying MS £40 a year would guarentee you a decent server but it appears not.

I'm on my 3rd 360 controller now i've got that annoyed with the lag. Here's hoping KZ2 isn't like that as i've only got 1 PS3 controller

Its like Warhawk. You will have dedicated Sony ones and even sponsored ones too. You can even use your PS3 as a server thanks to CELL.

lol - thats down to you being a noob then more than the lag - no lag problems on Cod 4 certainly....thought WaW worked the same way?

A game like COD4 or WAW will lag more than a server game. Infact there is quite abit of difference between the pc versions and the console ones online. Also at eurogamer expo WAW was on LAN which was nicer than anything online.

KZ2 is alot like Warhawk and the Resistance games. Its hard to end up ina laggy game.

20007! Looking at the offiicial KZ forums, its appears that the servers are down.. Lets hope this was intentional, or it doesn't bode well when people start playing in mass!

KZs producer has made a post, saying:

Servers have not crashed. They are being redeployed with a couple of required fixes. The list scrolling and some network errors should be fixed by that. Should be back soon.

I really wish there was a way to specify UK servers, its very very difficult with half a dozen nationalities or more on there and makes voice comms pretty redundant and headache dishing.
