Really basic (idiot!) question about points!

Killzone is my first online gaming experience, and I've only just got it, so bear with me! Every time I leave a game, I lose the points I got! A bit annoying when I just got 50 kills, then lost it all when I left. The game didn't end, it just went to the next thing (round?). SO I'm guessing you only get the points at the end of the game, and if there are multiple rounds you can't leave before they're over? Or am I just doing something really stupid?! Please help!

Yeah you need to wait until the game properly ends which you'll know has happened because the score board will appear on the screen.

Good luck

Re: Really basic (idiot!) question about points!

That might be true about the points but not about the ribbons. I was new too to the KZ2 and having just survived an assassination(which was a big deal for me then), i accidentally quit the game. I cursed for having lost the hard earned ribbon. Next day when i checked the stats, atleast the ribbon was updated correctly(to my relief!)

Got it, cheers guys! Having been playing almost non-stop since the weekend I now understand the setup, and the difference between rounds and games etc, thanks a lot!

I have been playing this for ages and all i know is that some of the ribbons are blummin difficult to get. How the heck am i supposed to survive 10 assasinations? Still, i will persevere, great game and new (ish) maps are a quality add on

Pity the game is dying though hardly anyone plays the new maps.

But recently I've been thinking about putting the disc in and giving it another go...

I've just come back to KZ2, sadly the game does seem to be dying. Still, it's a great game with brilliant online play. When I can find a pistol match (which is very rare these days) I'll sit there for hours. Ahh the good old days.

Re: Really basic (idiot!) question about points!

I have only just started playing it online - it is a lot more intense than Resistance 2! It took me a while to suss where the points were going

A quick question - the healing zapper gun thing - does it have a limited range and a recharge time ? I used it for the 1st time last night and it seems hard to use....

lol, I've tried so many times with all sorts of catchy room names. I think I managed to get a room of 3 people after an hour lol.

Pistol battles are dead.

The medics healing gun, once used to revive someone takes a short while to recharge. If you use it to attack an enemy it will go on forever. As for range, it's pretty decent when used to heal a team mate. You just need to practice aiming.

Re: Really basic (idiot!) question about points!

Hmmmm

I got a badge - the one when you have done 8 games where you scored more than 10% of your teams kills. I exited that game (after the score board) and then joined a different game.

Everything was fine and dandy - I was getting 3 pts per kill rather than 2 (the benefit of the badge) - but I could see it on my character page...

Then, , the next day I played, teh badge was not there still and my badge score had gone back to 7/8

Looking back at the posts in this thread - somebody suggested that there was a difference between "rounds" and "Games" - at the end of every game I see a score sheet (and you get ribbons etc if you have earned them) but how do you tell the difference between this a round?

Sometimes I have only the time to play 1 "game" - so will this be a problem for me???
